Need ideas for smuggler adventure+companion

By steppedaxis, in Game Masters

hi!

i just started playing eote with my gf, we finished escape from mos shutta and long arm of the hutt.

now i want to make an adventure specifically for smuggler while the base of it is that the PC's dont have a ship, they need to steal it or receive it somehow, and after that they run away from the plant the adventure starts on. after that ill think of a continuation for it

any ideas guys?

You’ve really got most everything you need right there.

If you want to give a bit more agency to the group, come up with 3-4 ships that will be available to steal, each with their own background issues - one may belong to a crime lord, one a celebrity, one’s an Imperial ship, and one is the ship used by a covert Rebel team, as examples - and let the players decide which ship they’re going to steal (or receive). That decision can then topple the first domino as to what kind of trouble they get into going forward.

ETA: Oh, and naturally, the characters don’t know those ship backstories. They’re just looking for a way off of whatever rock they’re on. Let that discovery (and its consequences) be surprises that okay out for a while.

I like the "choose your own checkered past" thing. :)

My players and I used this for backstory (never played): somebody found the location of a boneyard on an off-books moon. Most of the ships parked in the sand were factory seconds and stripped of non-essential equipment, so security was minimal. The player characters pulled together a team with off-screen NPCs: transportation, navigator, face, lookout, slicer, tech, pilots. The NPCs parted in their choice of ship, my players' characters in another, running a short line of credit with a Black Sun-connected modder on Socorro for repairs, registration and transponders.
