Order of Play

By JPS7.62, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

  1. Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get some clarification on the correct order of play. I have a Imperial list with 4 ships and a Rebel list with 6 ships. The Rebels have the initiative in the scenario. Is the order Rebel- Imperial- Rebel- Imperial- Rebel- Imperial- Rebel- Imperial-Rebel- Rebel? I just play casual games, but was curious as the only reference I can find that deals with a similar situation is for squadrons.

    Thanks in advance.

That's correct.

The rebel has more ships, so he gets a pile of un-answered activations at the end of the turn.

This can be a powerful advantage, as you get to watch your enemy move his key ships before moving your own best ships.

Some might say sadly it is this way ;)

Last-then-first is a very powerful artifact of the Armada initiative system.

Thanks for the clarification. Last then first can be crazy especially with the unanswered activation's at the end. It can make the Nebukon B's punch hard.

Nebulon B is the last that comes into my mind when thinking about last/first (beside the Yavaris, but this is because of something different :D ).

Most last/first hitter are MC30, Demolisher, MC80 Battle Cruiser, ISD.

You don't think Salvation with spinal and a concentrate fire is viable? I do agree though that the MC30 and MC75 or MC80 BC are deadly. The imperial stuff is cool too, but I like the rebel ships more.

I've only started playing recently and haven't purchased/ don't have easy access to a lot of the older expansions. In Canada their is only one supplier so that slows things down immensely. It's to the point that I've given up trying to get a Gladiator SD lol.

There is only one distributor but there are multiple channels for getting what you want - it just depends where in Canada you are. ?. Between 401, Meeplemart and the Sentry Box, yu can get most things covered - and things you can’t, like Gkadiators, well, they were just in the reprint process and were sold out World Wide essentially, so being Canadian is no difference ?

The Nebulon has some big problems. Bad defense tokens with weak side shields and a bad habit to die really fast ;) .

A Salvation with Spinal is 67 points. This is, basically, not to bad. A good hammer that can deal quite some damage to the front. But there is a reason you don't see this so often on the field. The only often played Nebulon is the Yavaris.
