Get Started Painting SW: Legion - New Article

By OccasionallyCorrect, in Star Wars: Legion

Good article—worth a read even if you’re not new, there’s a lot of info there.

Kinda surprised my man @Sorastro isn't mentioned. He is doing videos sanctioned by the mouse and LFL.

Unlike the article, I prefer the small tubes of a good quality brand of superglue. When it takes too long to bond you can toss it out and start on a fresh bottle.

That reminded me, I need some new brushes. Mine are old and a bit worse for wear. Thanks FFG. lol

Where do you find his videos? I've heard they are good, and would like to watch a few before the release.

He has a channel on Youtube. Just do a search for Sorastro

looks like Sorastro did the painting...maybe even wrote the article? just based on the images provided.

The images in the article look more like something from The Army Painter. @Sorastro didn't use those colors for his Rebel Troopers

EDIT: Um, actually...the pics in the article are the same ones in the LTP, pg. 28-29

They should have mentioned that if you're insisting on buying primer from the hardware store that it needs to be a primer that works on plastic

Every single image in that article is (c) and TM Lucasfilm, even the photo of the pot of glue

All the pictures are from the Learn to Play document...which is © & ™ Lucasfilm Ltd.

(as is the article itself...and all of the other articles about Legion)

I dont know, to me it looks very much like his video structure, down to "finishing touches". Never had doubt that this article wasnt done by him.

Hi folks!

I’m flattered by the assumption that I had a hand in the painting article because I think it’s really nicely written and layed out, but just to end any speculation I can tell you I wasn’t involved at all.

Don’t forget they have some very experienced and awesome in-house painters at FFG including the wonderful John Shaffer (who I had the great pleasure of meeting last year) so I don’t think we should be surprised by the quality of this guide. :)

Now.. back to doing what I do best - editing the next video (the AT-ST).

well, what do I know ;)

Hyyyyyped!

the paint jobs match this video, right down to painting the top of the cap the same color as armored rim.

So I didn't want to hijack the thread where you commented on finishing up the Darth Vader video, but does that mean we can expect that video after a few weeks of licensing limbo?

Hey Nuke! I submitted it the other day so who knows... I did ask if my using the Force might help speed things along a bit! :)
