I think there is another option for Leo, adding items at the expanse of allies. This will render his weakness void and will give you a strong Will/Might warrior with the ability to get clues. I want to try him solo. See the hang of it.

What's not to love about him: 4/3/4/1 (His s a fighter), extremely manageable weakness in comparison to earlier editions. If we will get a survivor with his stats, it would be great.

Beyond that, anyone got a clue when the deluxe set will be released?

As a LotR player myself, I have to say... Leo de Lucca is not like Steward of Gondor, mainly because there are legitimately good other options that compete for the same slot that he fills. And you can't do shenanigans with A Good Harvest and get Steward on a character without even having a Leadership Hero. Leo de Lucca is good, but he's high costed (unlike Steward, which pays for itself immediately) and takes your ally slot. He's perfectly well balanced. I don't even take him in a lot of decks that could include him (Zoey, for instance, I usually run Beat Cop instead).

But on to Leo Anderson.. He's strong for sure, but again, I'm not sure how strong without looking at the back of his card. He most likely isnt going to have access to the sort of cheap use-em-and-lose-em allies you can get in Seeker, for instance. Allies Leo plays you probably want to stick around, so he isn't going to get a chance to use his ability all that often. As others have pointed out, to get the best use out of Mitch Brown, you need to draw your allies in the right order: IE, draw Mitch first, otherwise you have to overwrite an existing ally with Mitch. And even if you do draw them in the right order, you're committing yourself to a slow start. Pay to get Mitch out, then ideally next turn pay for another ally, plus you'll obviously want weapons, physical training, and the rest of the usual Guardian suite. I think he is going to be powerful, but less good on missions when you have to move very quickly.

In Finn's case, I dunno. 1 wp is harsh. But there are a lot of decent Illicit cards he can pick from already. Including Liquid Courage (sucks that it's a willpower check, but still, its same sanity healing). He's really good with Lockpicks, another illicit card. Pickpocketing is illicit and good on Finn. Contraband is always helpful. He'll probably have to buy some Elder Sign Amulets pretty fast... but he could be fun to try.

My suspicion is that all the investigators will have build requirements like Marie.

Example:

• Type of card (spell for example) 0-5
• Main Class 0-3
• Neutrals 0-5
• 5 level 0 cards from two other classes

I am suspecting Leo may have allies and Fin will have Illict. But this is highly based on assumptions.

The other 2 investigators have been spoiled and without saying too much I'm not sure this is gonna track. I like the idea of these sorts of deck builds, but I'm not sure we have the card pool (still) for some of the rarer traited cards like relics and charms.

What would be the Lvl. 0-5 trait for Ursula? Insight?

(And for Calvin Wright?)

Which do you think, are the two off-classes of the investigators?

Leo: Seeker and Survivor(?)

Ursula: Rogue and Mystic(?)

Finn: Survivor and Guardian(?)

Marie: Seeker and Survivor

Calvin: Mystic and Guardian(?)

(Now I have 3 Survivor and only 1 Rogue off-class what I don't like. I think – if the premise is correct – they will even out the off-classes.)

And don't forget: Marie also gets Occult cards Lvl.0. I don't know what the equivalent would be for the other investigators.

Exactly! Same here! I predicted the investigators correctly in this case, but I have no idea how they will able to be built. I am HOPING and going to 'predict' that Calvin is the mystic and that Mateo is the survivor based on theme and back story. I would sort of like to see a priest that is not steeped in the lore of the mythos (I don't think most of them should or would be!).

I'm very excited for Leo. I've been hoping they would do Charlie Kane because I figured his mechanics would be around having multiple allies. Something I get with Leo. Not to mention that I really like his stats.

I really want to like Finn, he was a great character in the Dark Waters Trilogy but his stats and abilities are not my play style. I'm not fond of having a bunch of enemies running around and it is going to be extremely difficult for him to handle mental trauma. I plan to give him a chance but I think he will rarely get played.

I'm anticipating Charlie Kane will have some kind of parley based mechanic when he comes out now but that's purely speculation! I base it on nothing but his political background.

I would like to see some of these unbeatable decks that make use of all these busted cards.

The trouble is that "Any Ally" is way more powerful than "Any Spell." The vast majority of Spells are in Mystic, with a few high-level exceptions, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Allies, on the other hand, are distributed across all classes and levels. Having access to any Ally from any class provides far more versatility. I can't imagine that happening without some sort of Lola-esque gameplay restriction to balance it, which Leo obviously lacks.

Now, he could have limited access to other Allies, such as "up to five Ally cards of any class" or something weird like "Ally cards level 3-5" that would keep him from freely mixing and matching.

I think non-unique allies is a reasonable condition. Or limit any 5. Could be a lot of things.
