League play rules

What have people done for league play special rules? Runecasters episode 17 mentioned special points bonus for bringing certain armies to table (8 dial or 3 dial).

@Flightmaster / runecasters team can you provide details?

Do you get a league point for bringing it? Extra if you win? Or just get an extra point if you win with a special list?

Some ideas I have are, no heroes, dials already mentioned, or situation where where one person has to totally deploy first. No upgrade cards. And other side maybe need min 40 points upgrade cards. Or maybe have a 20 point bid. Maybe one person picks both scenario and deployment.

Thoughts?

Basically for league we have a 3 point max system. You get one point for attendance, 1 point for winning and one point for getting an achievement. I still do standard tourney scoring for Swiss pairs, but the tourney points don’t count towards league score.

I say you can only achieve 1 achievement per night, so people don’t double dip. I try and think up one achievement per week and you can’t get the same one twice.

some of my achievements this league have been:

Kingslayer - kill a unique 1 tray hero.

fully loaded - field a unit of no less than 4 trays with every upgrade possible. And the unit must survive.

vendetta - kill a figure upgrade before damaging the rest of the unit

Army of no more than 3 dials

army of no less than 8 dials

and win a game by less than the objective score (ex. your opponent murders more of you but you win because of objectives)

Man, our league sounds boring by comparison. We just play tournament rules, except that objectives and deployments are drawn from the whole collection of player 1. Which is actually a HUGE difference, and I like it a lot. It's just not very fancy.

Our league is like this too.

Our Armada “league”was just:

1 point for playing

1 point for winning

1 point for playing someone you haven’t played yet on your current sheet.

$5/sheet, 2 points gets you a common, 4 an uncommon, and hitting 7 nets you a rare. Once you pass 7 points, get you prize, toss your sheet, and buy a new one if you so list.

I may may try to set up something more interesting for RWM now that I’m reading this thread.

1/game (max, 1 per night/week

1/win

1/easy achievement (cannot trigger bonus for any achievement more than once during league)

2/ extraordinary achievement ( cannot trigger bonus for any achievement more than once during league)

We can do the same X points gets you Alt art/whatever. At the end of a quarter or whatever is the timing we decide, highest point total gets some store credit or extra dice or whatever. It makes bringing bizarre armies more valuable than actually winning games.

Hm...

Easy achievements (army building mostly):

-Bring no heroes

-Bring both heroes

-Use a hero’s army bonus in a game (how does that work for Ravos?). Can be triggered once for each hero

-Bring a 3 dial army

-Bring a 7+ dial army

- Bring an army with 1+ each: Melee Infantry, ranged infantry, cavalry, siege

-Bring a maximum size formation of a unit type (triggers once each for melee infantry, ranged, cavalry, siege)

-Run every artififact available to a single faction (can be completed over several games).

-Run an army with no figure upgrades

-Run an army with only figure upgrades

-Run a no-unique army

-

Use both hero’s army building bonus in one game.

- Bring an army with 2+ each: Melee Infantry, ranged infantry, cavalry, siege

-Bring an army with only the minimum number of trays for every formation

Extraordinary Achievements (gameplay, mostly):.

-Win a game by objective points that you lost through combat

-Win a game by taking every objective token (bounty doesn’t count). This would mean allowing no flank charges in Demoralize.

-Attack three times with a single unit in a round

-Win a game without scoring any objective points

-Win a game without an opponent charging you.

-Win a game where you made at least 5 flank attacks

-Stack at least 4 banes on one enemy unit

-Use rally to clear at least four or more banes from one of the units

-Lose at least one full tray to Cursed Signets
