Mandalorian Guantlet Fighter: Lets put it on paper (or card)

By Frostthorn, in X-Wing

If it were me, I'd make this ship something along these lines:

Attack/Agility/Hull/Shields: 4/2/6/3 with rear firing arc
Action Bar: Focus, Target Lock, Evade*, Barrel Roll*
Upgrades: Cannon, Crew, Torpedo*

*Maybe drop these

Pilots: 2 per faction, each with 1 Unique with an EPT, and 1 generic without.
Title: 2 total, one adds a second cannon slot that can be fired to the rear, and the other adds a second crew slot. Maybe make them faction specific, such as Scum/Rebel only, Imperial/Scum only.

So I know I'm bias as I love everything Mandalorian, I make armor, cosplay it and fly Protectorate Starfighters of all flavors (I own 5). I have always wanted to see the Guantlet since they brought it back into cannon with Rebels. I am curious what the community views would be proper for it card wise. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kom'rk-class_fighter/transport

I see it, as its very large and comparable to the ghost to be similar stats. 4 firepower (Don't feel this is overly powerful as it would not have turrets or the ability to mount one, yet per the wiki it states it mounts cannons in an aft facing so possible aux arc?) 2 evade as Mando ships tend t o be very fast and agile but this girl's still big. 8-10 hull? 4-6 shield?

I'd see a dial simialr to the Protectorate Starfighter just not quite as nimble. It does have the rotational wings.

Actions (forgot, thank you SabineKey) Focus, TL, Boost, (Barrel roll?)

Upgrades: Crew or 2, device/system, Cannon, illicit

Title: Combat varient: If a cannon is mounted you can fire both cannon and primary then recieve a weapon disable token.

Transport varient: Add 1 crew and illicit

For Pilots we could easily have Maul, he did have his own that he "barrowed" from the Death Watch and Ezra got his hands on. PS 6 or 7, EPT

Bo Katan per her Death Watch days or now as Mandalore PS 7 or 8 EPT

Mandalorian Freedom fighter PS 5-6 EPT

Mandalorian Quatermaster PS 3-4

I'd think the ship would start around the high 30s for cost and up from there depending on pilot ability.

Thoughts? Ideas? Changes?

it should be the second Scum epic ship.

id love to see it as a half epic ship, double bases but only costs 1 epic point. give it some gauntlet only stuff, and maybe be the first epic ship with 1 agility.

its hard because its bigger than the ghost but also more agile

you might want to look it up, its way bigger than that statline.

bigger ship than the ghost

Wider, yes. Mass/Hull? Perhaps not.

...

your statline for the Gauntlet would give it less HP than the Firespray, a ship 1/4 the mass designed by the same manufacturer.

there are several mandalorian ships which fit your desired role in the game, but A behemoth that will measure 10 inches long in 1/270 is not it

To be completely honest, with the Ghost and the Hound's Tooth being made large when they clearly should be epics, and the fact that Epics are usually upgrade expansion packs for all the time they see the table, I'd much rather have a playable ship in standard format than something I will buy only to collect dust. Is my statline too low? Perhaps. But there are already 2 ships that should conform to epic roles, and yet do not.

The wingspan of a Gauntlet is pretty wide, but the body itself isn't.

Not so big ...

that not-to-scale picture is not a great example.

i feel ya, i guess I just got in to the game from the modeling side and it perturbs me that ffg just kinda gave up on 1/270.

there is a mandalorian fighter/shuttle in between the fang and guantlet in size, id love to see that as scums first shuttle

The body is still longer than the freakin ghost, tho.

The Aka'jor, yeah. It's a pretty ship, but canonically unarmed.

Though, that's not stopped some ships before.

The ships that appear to be the same scale are the Hound's Tooth and and the far right Gauntlet (but for some reason, there are two canon gauntlet sizes.)

The Z-95 and the Gunboat might be the same scale to each other, and the Phantom and the Rogue might be the same scale to each other, but no three ships appear to be the same scale.

I have no idea what ship is in the front row right. It looks like something out of Gladius or Gundam.

Aka'jor would be nice to see, but it would need a title, methinks, to give it some firepower. Unless we want to go with a Captured TIE like ability, and then A-OK by me!

yeah a to scale Hounds Tooth would be my favorite epic. sadly that ship has sailed, and thry will likely do the same scale down for the gauntlet. i do hope it enters the game with a healthy statline, maybe 4/1/9/4 or something appropriate for a warship/combat landing craft that size

my biggest concern is that this doesnt just turn into "Star wars space battles" with models being random sizes.

Scale is one of the two reasons I did not buy Star Trek Attack Wing, despite being a bigger fan of Star Trek than I am of Star Wars.
