More Universal 1 Point Mods Needed

I loved the Kihraxz even before it got it's fix last year, but even with the fix the ship is still lacking a bit. And I think the biggest reason is even though it can take 3 mods now, and gets a 1 point discount for each one, since there are few cheap mods available, you still have to pay several points if you want the good ones, and that just adds to the ship's cost and makes it less efficient.

Currently there's only a single 1 point mod the ship can take, and that's Munitions Failsafe, which is useless if you don't take secondary weapons, and still very likely useless even if you do because of guidance chips and so forth. It would be nice to have more 1 point mods available to all ships (or at least all small ships), so that the Kihraxz could take advantage of getting them for free.

Frankly I'm surprised FFG didn't include a couple brand new 1 point mods with the release, including possibly making one or more Kihraxz exclusive.

That would help bridge the gap between the Kihraxz and it's cousin the T-65 X-Wing, as between IA, FA Astros, and the new stuff about to come out, X-Wings will jump way ahead of the Kihraxz for usability.

Game-balance-wise, I hear you and agree with you, but looks-wise I would just prefer that the scum faction just got X-Wings or something.

Kihraxz Fighters are so ugly and X-Wings are so pretty, and to be honest, the main reason I (and lots of others) got into this game was the pretty models.

Plus, X-Wings are way more recognizably Star Wars. And they're what the game's named after, for Pete's sake!

No offense, Kihraxz fans, but X-Wings, in my opinion, deserve to be better.

The K fighter is super wholesome,

you can take mods and upgrades up the ***, but the chassis can't really buff its defence.

you can take stress control, but the other guy gets agency, you can shoot twice each round, but it isn't automatic or a guarantee.

its a fun ship and I'm always interested in seeing how heir built, I like that no one build is dominant (see Rey, Poe, Dash, Ghost, etc.) and find them to be really interesting with all her tricks and gimmicks.

1. Being ugly is kinda their thing

2. The x-wing is THE rebel ship. It should stay that way. I'm mad at ffg for giving the rebels the TIE, I will not tolerate a scum x-wing.

I thought this exact thing. When the expac got revealed I immediately looked for a 1 point mod, yet bizarrely there wasn't ANY new mod of any sort. It's an extremely perplexing design decision / oversight, on an expansion that's all about giving the Khiraxz extra cheaper mods :/

yeah, scum getting an X makes no sense

it does, however, deserve fix...a.k.a a real Vaksai model

as for mods, you gotta be careful with making universal mods too good or just garbage outside the Vaksai

scum only mods ala something like LWF or Tie/mk2 would be interesting, though. Would be interesting to get a mod version of Intensity

I agree. I love the K-Fighters but in my experience I find they still struggle for two reasons:

1) They SHOULD be Harpoon carriers - but they have no one straight! This problem can EASILY be solved by simply allowing them to ionize themselves with Pulsed Ray Shield. I thought it was a really dumb ruling when they disallowed that.

2) As straight up jousters and knife-fighters they're not too shabby, although Glitterstim is a must, but they are still very much outclassed by Defenders. I don't think any jousters should be as good as Defenders, but the gap here is pretty big. Add in some one point mods and that all changes.

the Kihraxz is hands down the prettiest scum ship, and nails the star wars lines and style while being a unique addition to the universe.

I agree X-wings are awesome and should be prominent, but with astros and 20 pilots plus whatevers coming, they are.

Kihraxz have 6 pilots and no specialised upgrade type to set them apart aside from illicits

I like this, and not just on the K-fighter

Maybe we can get mods that mimic some of the less used 1pt EPTs like Cool Hand, Lightning Reflexes, Determination, Calculation or Adrenaline Rush.

Call them something else of course, and maybe tweak them a hair.

You're right, we could use some more 1pt mods.

After all most of the TIE Only ideas are 1pt.

Also i'd avoid any "rotate your ship 90 degrees" mechanics. Theres no rule on how that works w/o pegs to guide the positioning.

I know, I was just throwing it out there. Really, its really no different than a Talon roll though.

They kinda remind me of the Hammerheads from Space Above and Beyond. Granted I think the Hammerhead has a slight edge in the looks department, but the similarities are there.

Why can’t K fighters PRS?

He means that they can't do it unless they have no shields. FFG has stated that you cannot do an action that lets you recover shields if you have no shields to recover (this applies to Chopper, for example)

Which makes PRS situational on the K-fighter when trying to setup consistent 1 straights. Got it.

You could run the new agromech and an ICT on a scurrg and just ionize your K-fighter when you need to. Janky but it works I guess.

feedback array and PRS is 2 points on Vaksai and janky as all that.

Well no, because Ideally you want the BTL-A4 title for times your not shooting your own ship, and on top of that, you are running the Y-wing without R4 agromech, So your dial is limited. so I think you'll have a better chance of keeping your scurrg and your K-fighter together than you will with your Y. Of course you can always run the ship without the title and use it as a blocker/bomber. (Just my opinion, Besides Rebel Ys > Scum Ys :P ;) #Hortonlyfe #Dutchsquad)

No offense taken. X-Wings are better. And between FAA, Integrated Astromech and the new upcoming options Saw's Partisans, they're going to remain better.
