Anyone got any c ard images of the newest set . Ways Of The Force .
New set is called Ways of the force .
GREVIOUS IS AWESOME!!!!
Grevious is outright nutty, and of course fitting character to finally have a +1 upgrade ability.
Give'm like 3 uber cheap weapons and 1 decent weapon to trigger his power action asap.
Also, am i the only one a bit annoyed that theres now TWO heroes with villain card access, but no villain with hero access?

I am not. As a villain player I have only collected the villain and neutral cards. If I have to go back and collect a bunch of other cards to make a character viable I’ll be a bit disappointed.
......... OG Darth Vader has been kicked out of the house.
........ Hero Crime Lord. Yoda, buddy, how could you......
...... And Yoda with this.....
........ 12 health, 3 damage sides that don't get hit with damage specific mitigation for only 15 pts.........
A cheaper Heirloom that can find it's way into a mill deck .....
and we get creative plots.
Thinking this game is going to get some power creep going on like most FFG games.

Hopping for a new Darth Vader. If the new Grievous is this good, what will Vader look like.
Edited by ozmodonHuh, this set is coming Third Quarter? That's a long wait. What's up FFG?
It says second quarter, April/ may/ June
I don't see the Grevious hype, outside the obvious awesome flavor of the card
you need four of his weapon dice in the pool to trigger his power action [and they can be mitigated before you get to use it], and coming in at 20 point he's not going to have much for viable partners (Piggy? only problem is piggy doesn't generate
bacon
resources). Since you'll want blue for a partner (because
goddamn Maul's
) , seems you're going to be roped into playing what will inevitably be called "General's Guard"
Idk, I feel like you'd get more from og Vader's ability and just him being blue (dabadeedabadie) than you'll get out of grievious in most games
To me, Grevious seems to be a Timmy's wet dream, which is something huge and stompy but which requires a lot of resources/investment to get going. Sure, he puts your opponent on a clock, but which fully loaded damage character doesn't? Going to have to think long and hard about which upgrades to put in and how exactly you'll be paying for them (especially when you need to juggle in as much mitigation as possible).
Obviously I'm no master, but that's the impression I'm getting. It's been a long time since I've played a game where either side got up to even 3 upgrades on a character, apart from 5-dice villains redeploy spam. [though now I'm imagining a General, 1-die Mother deck that has Maul's and then dh-17s + Frags just for getting Grevious' ability)
Edited by ficklegreendiceHe’s virtually got Vader’s dice but better and the same HP for 1 point less. He trades Vader’s consistent disruptive ability that doesn’t necessarily help your end game, for a nice upgrade perk and a situational game ending blowout power action.
Yeah, he presently goes best with Royal Guard, but we also have a whole ~150 other unknown cards he’ll arrive with.

I think anyone playing grievous should be looking at 1 cost upgrades like hunting rifle, DH-17, fragmentation grenade. Cheap weapons are good for getting multiple dice out, they may not be the strongest die, but they will still do what they need to for him.
The new GG doesn’t care about being elite for his Power Action. I’m thinking single die GG, elite Dooku. Then your opponent has to choose between focusing on Dooku, potentially facing down a beefed up GG late game, or focusing on GG, leaving a difficult-to-kill Dooku for the end game.
I’m not a huge fan of Bo-Katan. The deckbuilding ability seems cool, but we know from the original Finn that it isn’t necessarily a big deal. She shows high theoretical damage, but it’s spread out across two damage types and a special. I don’t think she’s bad per se, but not really worth 15/20.
Luke? He’s awesome. At only 15 points, the biggest question is who to pair him with. Secura and a 3-point plot? Yoda and a 2-point plot? Poe? Maz and the new 4-point plot? So many options, and we haven’t even seen who all he can worth with in this set!

I think the small issue with pairing Luke with anyone that is not Blue is that his power action only allows him to move upgrades from himself to a blue character. So while you CAN do Poe or Maz, I feel that they are a bit more limiting then say one of the Reys, be it the action cheating Rey or the shield based Rey which of course is probably the pairing they had in mind when designing him.
Honestly, getting all of his abilities to work together is going to be really rough to pull off. Good blue abilities that arent super expensive are hard to come by. The only ones that I can think of are Makashi training and to a smaller extent Force Focus, Force Training and Inner strength, and the bigger problem with this is you cant really move them back to him without something else like a funeral pier or cargo hold so it is kind of a dead giveaway that they should probably target the other character. Because lets face it the real use for his power action isnt going to be to get a Force power to stick it is going to be using it to roll out the same force power twice in 1 turn.
Edit: that said this Luke is AMAZING his dice and health basically match the 20 point Luke except for 1 side being a 2 instead of a 3 and is still technically more flexible all for 2 dice being the same as OG Luke's 1 dice cost. Just goes to show how grossly overcosted the original Luke was.

I dunno, the opportunity to use Wrist Rockets in a deck that also gives you Easy Pickings, Entangle, and Second Chance probably has legs. I'd probably pair her with single die Yoda or maybe Kanan depending on the meta.
Overall, though, all of the specific call-outs of other cards to create special interactions makes me want to gag. If this is the way this game is headed, count me out. I don't like decks that build themselves because they just say on the card "you're an idiot if you don't use this with that, because it's literally the best thing and we tell you so." I got spooked and put on guard by the 2-player set, then Obi-Wan's Lightsaber calmed me down, but this is raising my hackles again.

Honestly while there are cards calling out specific cards the only one doing so really in this case is Luke's Lightning Rod and it is a good card without its call out and even with its call out it doesnt gain THAT much of a benefit. In the case of Bo-katan there are a lot of Yellow villain upgrades and her special is just rewarding you for following the other part of her ability. That said for 20 points she has 3 damage sides which is more than most of the 20 point characters on hero side and to top it all off she has Two, 2 damage sides and one 3 damage side all for free OR it becomes Two 3 damage sides and a 2 damage side, that is a much better die then some one like OG Luke or Old Ben or even K2. The only card that is immediately popping in my head for Bo-Katan is On the Hunt 1 cost and brings her ability online while still occasionally having + sides for her other sides.
Either way there has always kind of been staple cards, like if you are running Mono blue you might want Ancient saber and Force speed, or for how long was Vibro knife a mandatory card in melee decks. There are always going to be cards that you want to run in certain decks that will be obvious, but rarely is it the syngeries they specifically call out that will work.
Like with Luke's Lightning Rod... (I cant believe they made that a card it seriously feels like a Joke) I dont think I want to put this in a deck with Old man Luke. Its sides are good, but as a weapon instead of an ability it doesnt really synergize with Old Man Luke's Power action. Even putting it with Young Luke has its drawbacks unless you are running the new plot that gives it redeploy and basically makes it cost only 1, but I can definitely see using it in other decks simply because of how solid its dice is. And if I get a bestow in the deck or overwrite it later with an Heirloom GREAT and because of that it MIGHT make a deck.

I guess Lukas leaving was a bigger kick in the *** than thought. Maybe some Solo surprise two player type set coming next month? I thought it was a stretch for them to be producing so many cards in a year. At this rate rotation won't happen until the middle of next year.
Snope is on the box side and banner.
As for Q3 I would expect that we should be hopeful for a July/August Release and December/January.
So much of course hinges on FFG Logistics as these things can be on boats for 3 months or more.
While I understand they replaced Pedro his replacement hasn't be fairing much better.
Omg, the Luke is fantastic. Totally looking forward to paring him with Rey2
quarter 3 wow I expected may to be the latest, not sure if it's a good idea to go that long with nothing new to toy with
Thinking positively:
February to July to November = 4 months = 3 Sets/pa

Luke's Lightning Rod is the less offensive of the two. Grievous' Wheel Bike is Spot Grievous' or pay a resource to ready the card. That's utterly dumb and a gimme.
As you point out, I have no qualms about Bo-katan, her ability is a natural extension of her deciding ability, and encourages you get creative in looking for the synergies to maximize it, allows you to think about what will also synergize with her partner, and leaves the design space more open to build new cards later that you can see and go "maybe this would be a good candidate to revisit Bo-katan with".
Lol Luke from ep8.
"After turn VI, discard all the other cards in your deck, then remove Luke Skywalker from play as a casualty."

Oh ya I completely forgot about the wheel bike. I dont know why but I have this mental block when thinking about villain cards. I dont play villains so it is almost like they go in one ear and out the other for me.

I'm a bigger fan of elite 7th sister. That's 3 dice your opponent will go after, leaving GG by himself. Otherwise, you got a beefed up 7th Sister with 6 dice in the end...
