Terrinoth... still On the boat

Fantasy Craft did a lot well that so many don't consider. Making playable species of Drakes, Treants, Goblins, etc... And that they functioned well was pretty amazing.

They did. It just sucks that they weren't one of the two 'big names' and because the toolkit weighed the weight of a NASCAR garage Craftsmen toolbar, people were stuck in Damage Per Round simulators run by random packs of minis! JOY! I really liked Reputation. It was confusing as **** at first, but really cool if you wanted to build like.. a Villa or Kingdom with legit rules. (We still play. Genesys is our Modern Age RPG so far.)

For many weeks, Terrinoth was two positions on the list below the Serena mini for Descent. But the treacherous lieutenant has now made it to shore and store before the setting book has even disembarked.

You know what they're doing? PsyOps. They're reading this thread and plotting. The book is going to go from "On the Boat" to "Now Available!" with no steps inbetween. They'll then cackle with evil glee as we all lose our minds.

On a whim, I went out to test your theory. Sigh...they haven't done so since you posted 19 minutes ago, anyway. I'll check back in an hour. And then pretty much a couple times a day like I'm doing now. I swear when the book comes out a chapter in my life will close and I'll have to scratch "Check for Terrinoth Status" off my hobby list.

And yet I haven't heard any harpoon-related stories from you and Genesys

Oooh the joys of Spycraft 2! Sadly a good number of that group is not in my current group due to things like duty rotation, having kids and moving for careers. We're starting to get a feel for Genesys more and more. Star Wars won the Sci-Fi spot at the table. FantasyCraft still holds for Fantasy. As for Harpoon stories, stand by. My one 'still from that team' guy is our magic caster. And he's learning the rules and jumping in next session...

Though, our Intro game did consist of a sentient Radish and Carrot taking cover in the back of the heroes' jeep while they laid waste to garden tool weilding crazed, bi-pedal dwarf sized Rabbits. So... yea.. where's this Boat?! I need more stuff for this campaign!

I can imagine from the SC2 stories, that guy might have some serious fun with an open-ended magic system like Genesys. I'm looking forward to seeing how it expands with Realms of Terrinoth .

Week 8 of 6. Perhaps the steamer should not have tried to punch through the head of Great Cthulhu. But at least he got an exclusive look at the books.

My hype would be off the scale right now (pun... exists?) if we had confirmation that this book would have dragons as good guys and a playable species that didn't diminish their abilities to do it.

Alas, it appears they've been reduced to the same role they always hold: villain and giant XP piñata.

Wait for my project for Genesys... You might like :)

Our take on Bridget Jones:

This week:

Times checked for Terrinoth Genesys shipping updates: 8

Times checked for news on new Descent releases: 28

I'm sure I will, but my dragons are...significantly different from the typical. They're all natural shapeshifters, they don't all fly or breathe fire (in fact, those traits are mutually exclusive), and they have unique superpowers in addition to, you know, being dragons.

I'll definitely give it a look, but it probably won't be what I need, unfortunately :( . I may definitely use it as a framework, though!

Are your dragons perhaps... Fireborn?

No, but when I first discovered Fireborn, I was surprised at some of the similarities :) . I was all like, "wait, 'reincarnated dragons?' Are these guys basically Mauna ?" But then I read about the setting and I realized, no, they aren't at all.

I can't believe I'm the first one to notice that Terrinoth just changed status to Shipping Now ...

Woo!

Does that mean the release date it has is accurate? Are we finally getting it on April 19th?

I've not see a time where the release date wasn't accurate. I have seen once where it moved a week further out, but considering that was Ghosts of Dathomir ... I wouldn't spend too much time worrying that that's going to happen in this instance.

So! While we're at it, let's update the comparison, shall we :P ?

Realms of Terrinoth time On the Boat : 62 days;
Unlimited Power time On the Boat : 104+ days.

Realms of Terrinoth total production time: 100 days;
Unlimited Power total production time: 194+ days.

Realms of Terrinoth preview articles to-date: 3;
Unlimited Power preview articles to-date: 0.

Realms of Terrinoth official release goal: Q2 2018;
Unlimited Power official release goal: Q2 2018.

Current calendar quarter: Early Q2 2018.

...You're all absolutely correct. The wait for Realms of Terrinoth was UNBEARABLY long, with so little preview information to boot :P !

That pesky Lucas company getting in the way.

I actually don't think so. There's be no reason to announce a book before they have all the approvals for it, and definitely no reason to print copies of the book before then. If we assume that it was sent to the printer no earlier than the date of that status change, then they've had the approvals they need since at least the beginning of November. LFL can't be holding it up any longer. At least, I can't imagine how they could be.

I’m anxious for Unlimited Power too, but the big difference for me is I need Realms of Terrinoth to complete my work on my own Genesys settings (such as my Middle-Earth setting), whereas Unlimited Power would just be fun to have.

Hey, sorry Unlimited Power isn't out yet, but I'm still going to do the happy dance for the imminent arrival of Terrinoth!

I have been checking the product page and it still says pre-order. Where do I find this
