Terrinoth... still On the boat

Friday is the end of week 6 of the 4-6 week estimated time. So I'm cautiously optimistic we'll hear some good news by then.

I’ve never understood the whole “on the boat” thing. Wouldn’t people in the place the boat is coming from be able to get the book already? Where is the boat coming from, Valinor?

Shipping companies are not distribution companies. There's a lot of work that needs to happen between a product is completed and before it can be distributed to retailers.

We need GPS tracking for shipping containers!

Not nearly as bad as the wait for Cyphers and Masks. That one has been on the boat for about 4 months now.

The boat transporting 'Fully Operational' for AoR probably sank long ago as well. I just hope 'Realms of Terrinoth' doesn't fall to a similar fate as that and 'Strongholds of Resistance' (that one took forever).

One Amazon seller has it available on July 20 and another on April 2.

They did say that Realms of Terrinoth would be available in Quarter 2 2018; we're not even out of Quarter 1 yet.

Maybe this boat was attacked by orc pirates and is demanding ransom from FFG?

I blame the Corsairs of Umbar. Those sea-rats can’t keep their grubby hands off my things.

Hey can't a guy be really hyped for a product?

Oh totally, I'm jumping up and down with glee waiting for it too. :D

I think it's a spelling mistake - RoT should say "On the Boar" :P

Well, the boat just passed The Straits of Fourtosixweeks. I hope it’s nearing shore.

As I was told these books are printed and shipped within the US. The boat will have to be arduously dragged on wide stretches of dry land between the rivers on toppled treetrunks. This takes time!

This is nothing. The new Star Wars books have been "on the boat" since Dec 21st

The builders of Stonehenge and the Pyramids would still be under construction if they used Ffg's shippers...

But those are at least made in a galaxy far far away

I am thinking the boat is trudging up the Mississippi since FFG is located in Roseville, MN. That would make it a barge and they are notoriously slow.

It's a dragon en route from Terrinoth as I've said, no doubt with the overlord doing all it can to hinder its progress. It's hunting out long awaited Descent content and trying to save Battlelore / protect Runebound et al just in case (as us fans don't want to lose any Terrinoth games) on the way.

It's a long journey, this mighty creature will be with us soon.

Week seven of six. The crew are probably resorting to cannibalism.

Despair on the navigation check.

this means Fall for europe *LOL*

PDF's know no continental boundaries, my friend.

It is sitting in there warehouse along with the two Star Wars books Cyphers and Masks and Unlimited Power. This is based on the fact that several reprints which were printed and shipped after are now shipping soon for the Star Wars rpg. So either they have an incompetent distribution manager who has lost shipments or they are in their warehouse. I believe the warehouse option is the correct one. I had heard that the target for Terrinoth is April. I believe that is the case with the Star Wars books.

I have actually called and talked to their sales department. I always think it odd when they ask if you are just customer. That is when I like to say the only reason the store I go ordered their Rpg stuff was me. It is does not sell well enough to pre-order for the store. D&D5e, Starfinder, and Pathfinder. No FFG rpgs.

My rant on the outdated distributer model is when they all gather for GAMA is that the people who deal with the rpg stuff with Amazon are not more on their game. If they actually started to have an idea of what was coming out. They would buy in bulk and release the games they do buy on time like D&D5e, Starfinder, and Pathfinder which are on release date and cheaper. There would not be much of need for Distributer like Alliance, Diamond, Golden, or PHD. I remember last year when I made comment on the Starfinder forum that instead of going to GAMA they should spend some more time actually advertising their game on their website. Paizo staff defended the marketing person, and someone commended GAMA is were they make their money. I said no it is not Amazon sales dwarfs distribution sales. Critics noise was all I heard from Paizo staff. GAMA is just way for game company staff to go hangout with their buddies in Vegas. Distributers have that same comment of ohh your just customer. Well with out us the customers there is no need for game stores, distributers, and game companies. I might use some different language than ohh your just customer.,

I will say this Paizo customer service is always friendly and helpful. Paizo does not miss release dates and givers firm dates. FFG may want to take notice.
