Stripping paint off Mel's stuff

By Tiberius the Killer, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

So I just got my first order from Mel's miniatures (yay!). A set of ultra frosted detail U-wings. I wanted to start painting them right away, but the weather was not great. So I decided to use some of my GW paint on Imperial primer. I have never had a problem with it on other models, but the detail is just so fine, I think I done screwed up it. It looked fine at first, but when I put the first coat of paint on, it looks like I lost some detail. I think I might start over, and then use some spray primer.

Has anyone stripped paint off shapeways stuff? In particular, has anyone done it on "ultra frosted" stuff? What is good to use? I have used simple green for plastic GW stuff, and it has always worked great, but I'm not sure how this material will react.

It should react much the same as plastic.

Simple Green as a cleanser/degreaser is about as gentle as it gets.
