Stole the two Jump layouts from Marcel, but I only got 2 jumps and Fenn fits nicely in there for 34 points.

Intel + EMP might be more important than a second op spec. Keep a ship blocked while Fenn turns into Jaws to destroy his prey "duuuun dun, duuuun dun, duuun dun, dun dun, dundundundun"

That's beautiful!! But it's true, you probably don't need OpSpec

@wurms , what do you think of this build... is it even worth flying? I worry it doesn't have enough teeth to truly hurt my opponent

Fenn Rau

  • PTL
  • Autothrusters
  • Concord Dawn Protectorate

Contacted Scout

  • Attanni Mindlink
  • Intelligence Agent
  • Rigged Cargo Chute
  • Ion Projector

Contracted Scout

  • Attanni Mindlink
  • Navigator
  • Rigged Cargo Chute
  • APL

TOTAL Squad Points: 96

A 4 point bid seems pretty nice. My thought process was to use Intelligence Agent and Navigator block/bump to set up Fenn to finish them off. The added damage/Ion to the opponent would just be icing on the cake. I also thought about Expert Handling to utilize the native BR and strip those nasty TLs.

I think OpSpec looks like half the point of the list. Get your Snapshot game on, so that you'll have actions in the bump-fest, but your opponent won't.

Other builds for Jumpmasters might work, but they'd be radically different builds. For a Snap [Crackle] OpSpec list, I think doubling-down on core mechanics would be stronger than diversifying. I don't think that's true of all lists, or most lists even, but here, I kinda think maybe.

I've tried to fly Fenn Rau with bumpmasters before, and it hasn't come naturally to me. I just haven't been able to hit-and-run out of a parking lot all that well.

@MUrunner20 Damage output could be low, especially if you lose Fenn. Snapshot can push damage through and if not, you get focus tokens where one scout should be blocking/snapping and the other ships in the squad at range 1 to benefit from the focus. Attanni would be stronger if one was on Fenn to protect him from stressers/blockers

Navigator i would say is useless here. You are going up and down dial, so a 1 sharp to a 2 sharp. Not gonna make that much of a difference. Scouts, next to opponents can block most moves with a 1 sharp turn and barrel roll.

EDIT: Although my gunboat swarm, did get its butt kicked by timewalk asajj and two attanni scouts a few weeks ago. When scouts can barrel roll into range 1 of ps2 ships, they are vicious bastards.

@wurms , good points. Thanks for the comment and recommendation. Do you know if Intimidation and/or Tactician would be good options on them? Has anyone had any luck with these cards on the JumpMaster? Like you mentioned, those two scouts can clog a lot lanes and both of those options could cause your opponent problems. Thanks in advance for any comments or recommendations.

Damage output is low on the list. Ops spec plus the intel is definitely needed. It's very different, but it clearly can work. I watched one of Marcel's matches in the MI regional, and it does a crazy amount of work.
