This was confirmed on our Xwing Facebook by an OP. There are no longer Quarters but "Seasons" instead.

Phantoms are basically the Empires version of Tyco, but worse, and only points less. I have used whisper to pretty great effect, but that's pretty much it, they could use a buff.

Seems like a weird excuse for being consistently late with releases. "i know we're releasing our Q1` content in Q2 but that's because it's a "Season". This feels a lot like "alternative facts" that have come out in the states lately.

There are currently 3 major cards that need tournament kit support, and I cannot for the life of me see how Expanded Hangar Bays made the list seeing as it is one of the cards in the core set.

The cards most in need of a kit release are:

Flight Controllers: So many carriers on both sides should have this card but none do because it's only available on the most hated Wave 1 ship in the game. Nearly everyone I know who has this card bought a VSD, removed this single upgrade, and sold the rest at a hefty discount. If you buy a VSD off ebay, check to make sure this was included and demand a refund if it is not.

Skilled First Officer: Another card that everyone should have in both factions, but which is only on a single ship for one of them. While the Liberty isn't as openly reviled by the community as the VSD, it still limits one of the most useful upgrades in the game to a single faction and a remarkably expensive investment.

Fighter Coordination Team Flight Commander : Another card on a single ship, but unlike the other options listed so far this card is almost exclusively used by the opposite faction. This card should be easily available to both factions.

Flight Commmander , the other half of the "Set", is only in one.

Its just FFG, being FFG. With the word season they can avoid the whole date parameters when they said quarter. now they can release the kits when they are ready to...

Lame kit for veterans and no must have and hard to get card for new players.

Or they’ve realized they can’t keep up with quarterly kits for all their events so this prevents them from overpromising and underdelivering. The use of the term quarters implies kits four times a year (and it makes sense for people to expect that with that term), but they can’t meet that (I don’t think they ever have?) and they know it so it makes sense to change it.

Um. . . there are still 4 seasons. So we'd still expect them 4 times a year.

Well, there’s more than one definition to season, but he did later say they still anticipate 4 per year, but it seems they’re already behind on that!

These are done in house how do they get behind. You select a pre-existing card, pre-existing art and Reese's PB Cup those bad boys. It seems the best plan would be to outline all the cards and tokens for the season and ones they want to do in the future. This is Armada, we have less than a dozen tokens, although we do need a veteran token for CC still.

So the new formula looks like Quarterly kits get a squad and an upgrade. Store Champ through Regionals get Ship and World's a Commander?

Expanded Hangar Bays are at least useful, for that I'm happy and content to wait to see what comes out next.

Out of curiosity, which of the "Fighter set 2" squadrons have alt art?

I will say that the Armada OP crew are probably the best on selecting useful cards for OP. I have so many X-Wing alt arts that are completely useless, or ones that are useful at 1 but I have 10 of them. The LCG, a game that is cards only, does not have the most used cards as alt art, they have some good ones but others are a big wtf decision.

Sometimes I wonder if they do it to try to get folks to play more with them. I know I've considered how to get more GSD2 action since I like the alt art.

Because they're such pretty squads! And such a cool theme. I'll definitely be using mine (at least one more attempt at them!) if I end up with the alt art.

I don't think there are any yet. Ciena dropped about the same time and there's an AA of her from the CC promo kit they did, but nothing from the actual Squadron II packs AFAIK.
