I still love my red SOS shields, but I have to admit I'm curious to see those metal shields in person!

Now to see if Asmodee Canada is better at shipping kit tournaments 200km than at shipping BSFs, none of which made it to my FLGS...

That's lame if there are indeed people like that in your area. PM me in a few months and I'll mail you some swag! I'm blessed to live in the SF Bay area which has tons of store kit events going on all the time. I always end up with lots of extra cards and tokens. I like to give them away to newer players or people that have to work on the weekends. Helps to keep the scene healthy.

Convince your TOs that the cool things shouldn't always be handed to the top players? The way I do it, the winner (except if it's me) gets to pick one thing from the loot box, all the rest is in a draw with a dice roll deciding who gets it, and anyone that got nothing that day gets their pick of something from the back catalogue of the loot box (mainly older alt arts).

That tradition was passed down from the previous TO at my FLGS and I intend to continue it. Other FLGS in our town can do it the way they'd like. It creates a more casual atmosphere since everyone actually has a shot at the cool stuff.

I also split the 3 quarterly kits' packs of 5 acrylics into 5 packs of 3 to spread the love, but that's just me.

As cool as those shields are, I'd need a lot of them to consider swapping out my red SOS ones and my son probably feels the same about his PTL ones, since he had to beat me once for every single one of them

...Huh. You wouldn't happen to live in the Vancouver area, would you? This, in a nutshell, is the main reason I dropped from competitive X-Wing altogether.

Once FFG went super-stingy on their OP kits, I didn't like basically financing the same few players' winnings at every tournament.

I hope the tokens have a bit of heft to them, like a nickel as opposed to a dime or penny (USD lol).
