SLAM on the K-Wing

By Lightningclaw, in X-Wing

After flying the gunboat for a while, I'm picking up a K-Wing. While I'm waiting on it to arrive, I'm wondering about the tactical difference between the gunboat's slam (often an offensive measure since it has ways around that weapons disabled token)

and the K-Wing's slam. You can't bomb with it anymore, so is it more of a super-boost for arc-dodging, or as a way to set up the non-Miranda unique's special, or what?

combine it with ei and you're good, you just get stress for bombing

EI lets you bomb, it just forces you to do a green move (which isnt really a problem). Course only 1 kwing in a list can do that.

SLAM is more of an escape maneuver for kwings otherwise. They have no ways around the weapons disabled token and unless theyre slamming to block (or force a bump since slams can bump/hit rocks) the only other reason to slam is to escape.

I almost never saw a kwing slam unless it was bombing though.

It's for Miranda to arc dodge with, basically. Either by actually dodging, or by ramming into someone she doesn't want to be shot by.

Still wonderful on a Warden with EI and your choice of action bombs. Now usable even through rocks and/or after bumping on the second manoeuver :D
