Looking at Metawing There seems to be two distinct Kylo builds.

1) Kylo + 2 Gunboats

2) Kylo + Quickdraw and Academy TIE/Epsilon.

surprisingly to me, 2) seems to be doing better, but which do you think is better? Also do you have other pilots to fly with Kylo?

I've been amusing myself on Fly Casual with the following:

Kylo Ren - First Order Vanguard, Push the Limit, Advanced Optics, Advanced Sensors, Autothrusters - 47
Omega Leader - Juke, Comms Relay - 26
Omega Ace - Push the Limit, Comms Relay - 26

I'm not even going to pretend it's competitive, but it's fun.

There are two other lists I think have legs with the standard 47pt Kylo build:

Kylo + Ryad (LW, X7, SD) + Academy

Kylo + Palpshuttle + OL (ASTS + AO)

I had a fun game yesterday with Kylo, Epsilon Ace (the PS 12 one, with Advanced Optics), and Deathrain with Accuracy Corrector, Bomblet Generator, and Lightweight Frame (34 points). I think that's probably the best Punisher build, not too expensive, and surprisingly dodgy. Getting a pre-move barrel roll is almost like they've got Advanced Sensors too. I don't like AdvS and Unguided Rockets because I don't like being locked into a Focus action, and the 3-dice with a Focus isn't really much better than AccC 2-dice attack anyhow.

I don't necessarily think it's a *better* list than more traditional Kylos, but it's a lot of fun to bust out that Punisher which has been gathering dust on the shelf.

If you want to fly on a competitive level then these builds are the way to go.

I personally prefer 2) because it gives you many options how to outfit the ships:

You can fly an epsilon pilot (All FO Ships and 98pts. with VI QD)

Or fly an Academy (95 pt.) with Harpoon QD (97 - 99 pt.)

Or just throw Wampa in. (97pts.)

I prefer Wampa. She's a decent blocker and somehow threatens some enemies. and MAYBE you can use her ability...

I've seen someone locally running Night Beast. They felt the free focus action (allowing them to Evade) was more valuable than Wampa in the particular list.

Personally, I'd try for an Advanced Optics Epsilon. I think that's a sneaky-good ship for the cost.

Vader with Cruise Missiles seems like a valid option too.

I was thinking about Vader/Kylo the other night. He's got the ready-made crits to activate Kylo's ISYTDS.

Thats right. Also he has more mobility than QD. Equip him with Cruise Missiles and you still have a 3pt. bid (if you fly an Academy).

On top of that you're flying Vader and Kylo together

I can't speak to #2, but the gunboats are great wingmen for Kylo. I think that archetype is being held back by the general insistence to stick to 26 pt deadeye Rhos.

I have been flying Kylo in another build, i have been using Intensity on him, and it is surprisingly good, also with FCS ,instead of Advanced sensors, he plays VERY differently from the AS version, but I am used to using Fenn (Scum version) so with Advanced optics (psuedo Attani mindlink), and FCs, and Intensity, he has a TL, Focus, and evade, making him very surviveable.

have been trying him with different wingmen, won a 12 man tourney, with 2 generic Silencers, both with Intensity and FCS, and OL, was a lot of fun to fly, but have since moved on to having Kylo in the mix, with a generic Silencer, both with Intensity, and Optics, and Kylo with FCS, so I feel many players are stuck in the Advanced Sensors mindset, and are not trying different things, granted I did not win a System open with it :-), but am having lots of fun with Kylo.

I haven't flown it yet, but I'll be giving this a try this week. Countdown is one of the best blockers in the game, Inky stays long range at picks at them while Kylo knife fights. Should make target priority a pain and difficult to focus fir on anyone.
