dual wielding criticals

By Stormbourne, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

okay so dual wielding lightsabers one with kimber the other with krayt how would i do critical for this combo?

If you're attacking with two weapons (there's no such thing as "dual wielding" in the mechanics), then after you do the dice pool stuff and roll your Lightsaber check, you can crit once per hit. So whatever your primary weapon is, if you succeed on the check then you could potentially crit if you have enough Advantage to spend on the weapon's crit Rating.

Then if you got enough Advantage to trigger the second hit (on top of the Advantage required to crit with your primary weapon), you can cause your secondary weapon to hit and then potentially crit with that weapon, if you have enough Advantage left to pull that off.

Remember every critical injury inflicted on the same target increases the crit roll by a cumulative +10.

Because you mentioned the kimber Stone specifically you cannot Crit with that crystal, so it depends on which weapon you decide is your primary weapon.

First possibility is you choose the Dragon as your primary, then when you hit you can choose to spend Advantage on with a Critical or hitting with the Kimber, with enough Advantage you could do both.

Your second choice is to select the Kimber as your primary, then when you hit if you want to cause a Crit with the Dragon you first must trigger a hit with the Dragon by spending 2 Advantage, then more advantages to Crit.

So you cannot hit with the Kimber and Crit with the Dragon without also causing wounds by hitting with the Dragon.

first yes there is P.217-218 two weapon combat. second if kimber crits due to a Triumph and i have three advantages left i can hit with the krayt and score a crit do i treat these two as separate crit rolls or one crit roll with a +10?

Two rolls, the second will have +10 because of the first (assuming no Vicious, Lethal Blows or prior Crits are involved)

Separate crit rolls, the second will be at +10 because of cumulative crits.

As to my side comment about dual wielding, which seems to have been taken out of context given the content of my reply..."dual wielding" is not the same as two-weapon combat. People have come on here before thinking that if you are simply wielding two weapons then you have to attack with both of them, or that you have to increase the difficulty of your combat checks, etc.

Again, the rules don't say anything about "dual wielding." They are concerned with "are you using two one-handed weapons to attack someone with a single action."

Also, as noted previously, the kimber stone does strain damage and has no crit value. I don' think you could crit with a triumph even. Although I am not 100% positive of that.

There is a side bar on causing Crits when causing strain damage, saying that a Triumph is the cost if the GM allows it.
