I know this is probably just some license the 3d artist took but have you realized that the render of the X-Wing from Saw's Renegades has the x-foils closed? It's an easy mod and I never expected anything else than alternate paint jobs but it got me thinking if they are planning something unusual.

Are you referring to the millennium falcon from the heroes of the resistance? That was quite a special case but yeah, it sets precedent now that you say it.

Black One was also a new sculpt in that set IIRC. SLightly retooled detail, plus I think they modelled on BB8 instead of a generic astro. COuld be wrong though.
I'd be surprised if they can do functional S Foils, and as a result, I'd be surprised if they'd do a closed-wing sculpt, because of the similarity to Zs.
But I'd love to be surprised.
Similarity to Z's hopefully isn't an issue. I mean look at the FO vs the SF.

Does anyone have a mod thread on how to mod their x-wings to open and close the s-foils? I refuse to buy 5 renegade packs to fly 5 x-wings!

I've seen mods to closed foils, but I don't think I've seen a mod that can do both open and closed on the same ship, for x-wings anyway. B Wings, yes.

I wouldn't assume the renegades is gonna bring an alternate sculpt just yet. As I said it could be some artistic license the 3d artist took for the promotional render.
