Yeah those are good looking things. I find them innefecient to print but you can't argue with the final look

Here in Aus I paid to get some imperial terrain ones 3D printed and these look just as good if not better quality for cheaper.

The FFG ones are factory made from a mold, so they should look better than 3D printed ones and they can achieve finer detail. As for the artistry behind the 3D files, well all the star wars stuff like the ships and vaporators were all done and shared back in the 90's, so how to make these objects was already figured out and standardize a couple of decades ago. People were rendering art scenes back then, not 3D printing, but the process is fairly similar. We can push so many more polygons now than back then.
