Quick queries for those in the know

By beefcake4000, in Star Wars: Legion

I’ve been reading through the rules referenc but here’s a few things I’m confused about hoping someone can clarify

Leader - I read that squad leaders can claim objectives so that means no vehicles does your commander count as a leader? Or is it literally just trooper units and speeder units at the moment?

Pivot - is an action yeah? It’s not just a free thing at the end of a move?

Choke - Darth’s choke ability says target a trooper that’s not a leader so can it pick out a heavy weapon? Or just a basic trooper?

Exhaust - weapons that exhaust like the ion blaster and the imperial bazooka need to be reloaded with an action yeah? It’s not just a free thing that happens at the end of the turn?

Cheers peoples.

read the RR again this time focusing on these sections: Unit leader, Pivot, Movement, Miniature, Exhaust, recover, activation, end phase.

I was clearly finding elements of the rules ambiguous. They aren't that well organised without the learn to play as a reference too

p44: For units that consist of a single mini, that mini is the unit leader. As I read it Luke is a Commander and a Unit Leader.

p37: A pivot is a type of movement that allows a mini with a notched base to change the orientation of its base. As this is a move it requires an action.

Choke: As I read it this is OK, but if Vader is that close to you choke is the least of your worries.

p27: When a unit performs a recover action, all of its exhausted upgrade cards are readied. Until then the cards remain exhausted.

Also, according to the unit card, Luke is also a trooper.

So here's another quick one, does a trooper unit have a morale rating of 1? Or is it one per model left in the unit?

Everything I can read says it's just 1 which makes them super easy to suppress/break which seems weird? But impact grenades count as one per model which is obviously different.

Are vehicles listed as an exception to this rule about unit leaders anywhere? It definitely says only a unit leader can claim and that units with one mini count as a unit leader with no mention about vehicles being an exception to the rule in those sections, so are they good to claim?

*Edit* actually I found this one. The Restriction on vehicles is on the misison cards not in the RR so I'm guessing that in some missions they do count but in the supplies ones I was looking at it specifically said 'troopers'

vehicles are units... pg 43 RRG

Quote

A unit is a miniature or collection of minis that functions as a

single fighting group.

then on pg 44

A vehicle is a unit type that consists of one or more miniatures

affixed to either a medium, large, or huge base.

Thanks slasher, in the end I worked out the confusion wasn't coming from the RR it's that some missions like 'supplies' say that only troopers can claim. So yes vehicles can claim, unless the mission stops it.

Yep that's right. 1 token and they are suppressed a second and they are panicked.

p36: If a unit is at range 1–3 of a friendly commander, it may use that commander’s courage value instead of its own when checking if it is panicked.

Something that may help is the video:

I agree with Amanal. This How to Play will get you to that warm and fuzzy rules understanding.
