Taking a break from modeling SW/BSG CG models....

Latest updates on my Klingon K't'inga battlecruiser: (once I get this baby completed and transferred to iClone, I'll make color corrections there)

And in this image, you can see I applied a highly detailed cobra head image directly from Star Trek The Motion Picture (just as I did with the waist section), and am now reworking the cobra head for better quality and extrusion detail.

The K't'inga class battlecruiser is my favorite ship in all the Star Trek universe, followed closely by TNG's Vor'Cha class attack cruiser, and the refit Enterprise from TMP.

Would love to see the models you have. :)

Thank you, all, by the way, for the likes and kind words. :)

One thing I might try to do first is make the fronts of the warp nacelles look a little flatter...after I finish with my K't'inga model. :)

This is priority now, right? ?

Yeah, I figure I'll see what I can do about the Enterprise's warp nacelles. I'm definitely interested to see my CG model become a printed reality. :)

Awsome ?

Any desire to model Voyager in the future? I would buy the 3-D print just to try and create the movable nacelles.

Thanks, folks. :)

After I redo the warp nacelle, I'll probably work on the Klingon bird of prey (TSFS, TUC) and then probably the Vor'Cha attack cruiser. Voyager is definitely a possibility. :)

Of course, I could not sell anything Trek related.. but, should I get around to building Voyager/Intrepid class, I could just put it up for printing. :)

Did some color adjustment, and am in the middle of working up a test animation recreating the opening sequence of Star Trek The Motion Picture. Here are a few screen caps from my redux project.

Thank you for all the new likes.

I'm glad to see the Enterprise is still getting some love. :)

Let's see.... I still have a warp engine rebuild to do. :D

The warp engine is almost finished. That is one difficult mesh to build, but I think I've just about got it nailed. :)

I think I managed to correct the shape of the warp nacelles for the TMP Enterprise.

It looks absolutely amazing. Already asked about Voyager, but any plans on making the Enterprise-E (my favorite ship)? Please keep this up!

Thank you, Admiral, for the very kind words. They mean a lot :)

I have been thinking about the Enterprise E indeed. I do believe my next Trek models will probably be a rebuild of the Miranda class, the Excelsior class, and the Klingon Vor'Cha (attack cruiser) and B'rel/K'vort (Bird of Prey) classes. But yes, the E-E is a definite future prospect. :)

So, I did a minor improvement to my K't'inga battlecruiser, and I think the photon torpedo effect looks much better ....and it looks even better in motion. Did some tweaking with V'ger as well.

Right now, here are some screencaps until I get this finished.

I think the forward dome looks a lot more solid now.

This is how the forward dome looked before...as you can see, it's a bit rough on the sides and near the top.

Much smoother and more consistent now:

Making another correction to the K't'inga.

The secondary hull of the ship. At the waist, where the boom joins the secondary hull. The waist I put on it is concave....it is supposed to be convex. The only concave part of the secondary hull is lower aft of the ship where (in the TMP version of the K't'inga) the Klingon emblem is boldly displayed.

Here are the latest shots of my corrected K't'inga. I had to rebuild the secondary hull, but that didn't take very long. I really love the techniques I've used to help simplify model building.

I'm sure there are more corrections on the way....this is likely far from the final build.

It is my hope that I become as good at building the K't'inga as my friend Ger has become at building the Original Series Enterprise.
