Kingsguard viable?

By Castorp, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hi,

I dabbled in Kingsguard decks a while, using Baratheon and Martell Decks. However, I find the available Knights too expensive and useless. Most of all, there is no reducer as for the Night Watch for example. (Dorne is a kind of Kingsguard reducer, but as there are not so many Kingsguard guys, I find even Dorne hard to benefit from.)

I was wondering, if you could help me out or just post your experiences.

I believe a Martell/Kingsguard deck is extremely viable. Especially in joust. You attack me I win, gain one power (assuming White Book), you attack me I lose, well you just might be fulfilling that claim yourself. Also, Dorne is useful because my Martell deck is also set up with all the Martell knights (which most are House Dayne as well), since all the Kingsguard but The Hound are knights using Dorne to reduce Knight is also useful. Plus the synergy with Myrcella is another benefit.

I think that Martell is a great house to run the Kingsguard out of, but really gameplay down in our parts has shown that Melee is really where they shine. The capability to redirect challenges via multiplayer titles compliments the White Book agenda very well. Also, their strong defensive nature makes them less of a target in the early game and lets them spend more resources setting up for a later push.

Martell is a nice house if you win or loss but i think that kingsguard out of stark is nice too. In stark you got all those toons that don't kneel to def and all
