Denver Regional (Broomfield, CO)

By SgtDurandal, in Star Wars: Armada

Sorry to post this here but got nothing but crickets in the Organized Play section.

Just trying to reach out to anyone planning on attending the Regional in Broomfield, CO on March 24th. We're @durandal343 travelling there from South Dakota and just curious if there's anyone interested in meeting up before the matches start for a friendly breakfast and chat.

Yeah, I'm planning on attending. I don't know the area very well (at all), but there's a Village Inn pretty close to Total Escape. I'd meet for breakfast.

Excellent! We'll tentatively plan on it and reach out when we're closer to the day.

This is the closest regional for me but I can't make it. I haven't heard anybody in my area is going, although I know they went a couple years ago...

Just a quick bump to see if we can find anyone else planning on going to the Regional in Broomfield. Sound off if you're planning on being there!

There have been 6-8 locals showing up to our Thursday evening Armada nights ever since Wave 7 dropped. For a tournament we usually get a couple of folks to drive in from Ft. Collins and/or Colorado Springs, plus you two from S. Dakota, so I'll guess 12-16 total.

Its my 11th wedding anniversary and I'm already taking some flack for coming out to Regionals in the first place, so breakfast is out for me.

The Huckleberry in Louisville has great breakfast fare, and isn't too far away. It is a bit spendy, though the food is excellent. Actually, with the tech boom, food anywhere nearby is a bit spendy :( Huckleberry's menu is online with current prices, so you can judge for yourself in advance.

I do not play in tournaments, but greetings to all the armada players heading to my sector of space (i live in Colorado) :D

Im a regular at TEG. I'll be happy to join you guys for breakfast and welcome you to the area. If you want close and relatively cheap, then the Village Inn is probably the best option. There's also an IHOP just a little further East of the Village INN (~.5 mile directly east from TEG). If you wanted to spend a few bucks more, we could go to Early Bird (11940 Bradburn Blvd #400) or The Egg and I (799 US Hwy 287).

I'm totally happy to do the Village Inn if that works for whoever is interested in joining. While I love excellent food, travelling on a budget always takes precedence.

Plus I haven't eaten at a Village Inn since my college days at CSU. :) Should bring back a flood of foggy memories.

Heck, I don't care about Village Inn. :) It was just the closest place I saw to the venue. I will gladly defer to any locals who know a better place to eat!

Alright gents... last bump. For anyone interested in meeting up Saturday before all the plastic star ship shenanigans kick off, how does Village Inn at 830 or 9 sound? Open to any other suggestions!

Yeah, I suggest we aim to meet up at the Village Inn (1190 E 1st Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020) at 8:30am. Since Registration starts at 9am (dice roll at 10am), we'll probably want to be done with ordering and eating by 9:30ish so that we can hop over to TEG, register, and set up.

EDIT: oh, btw. should we grab a table with someone's name and an expected # of ppl to have seats for?

Not a bad idea. Since we're staying in the hotel right across from the store we can grab a table. It'll be under Jarod. If people want to sound off if they think they'll attend I'll let them know how many will be coming.

I'll still be there. See you at 8:30!

I'll be there at 8:30.

I'll be there :)

I've been thinking I need to stop by TEG some time. I usually just play with a few friends (got a co-worker into it and now we play every 2 weeks at the office), but if there's a regular group it might be fun to play with some strangers.

Good luck to everyone at regionals!

@SQUIDwarrior
yeah, we play every Thursday. People tend to arrive around 6pm. (give or take an hour). We'd love to have you and ur friends drop by.

Hey everyone! Just want to drop a quick line and say thanks to all the great people we got to meet and play pew pew star ships with! The Colorado crowd was very kind and welcoming and @durandal343 and I had a fantastic time. I find myself in CO on a semi regular basis so when I can I'll try and drop in for a game or 2. In the meantime everyone "stay on target."
