4 Jumpmasters is pretty efficient.
Nothing but pilots:
Patrol Leader (40) - VT-49 Decimator
•Captain Oicunn (42) - VT-49 Decimator
•"Howlrunner" (18) - TIE Fighter
Strictly speaking, I'd say that using anything but a generic pilot is using an "upgrade" because special abilities are being gained.
Chewy (free attack when friendly destroyed)
Miranda
AP-5
Rex
i imagine a 0 upgrade non-tiespam list would have issues with a double ghost list.
2x Lothals + AP-1 + Rex = 99pts. Thats a lot of firepower/hp to chew threw without any doublemod shenanigans, sheer mass of attacks, or heavy hitting attacks.

Well, I'm out.

not a rule

"Upgrade" is a game term specified in the rules reference under the Upgrade header:
"When building a squad, a player can field upgrades for his ships by paying their squad point cost, which is listed in the lower-right corner of each Upgrade card. The upgrade bar along the bottom of a Ship card displays icons that represent which upgrades that ship can equip. For each icon shown in the upgrade bar, the ship can equip one Upgrade card with the matching icon."
It's pretty clear that Upgrade refers to the mini-American size cards added to the ship, not a unique pilot (because unique pilots don't have a cost or card separate from the ship chassis, it's all combined).
T-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-TIE FIGHTERS!!!
Well, since VI is out of play how about triple PS 9.
Several passive dice abilities, a 3 dice PWT, 23 total hit points and some probable PS kills, plus Fen shenanigans.

5x Kihraxz Fighters, no upgrades needed! ![]()
I'd go with this:
Jess Pava (25)
Captain Rex (14)
Wedge Antilles (29)
Poe Dameron (31)
Total: 99

Seems good.
Fenn Rau (20)
Lowhhrick (28)
Thane Kyrell (26)
Jess Pava (25)
Total: 99/100
Thane ge ts actions while lowhhrick gets attack, jess has her ability. Low jus reinforces and may be fenn coordinates a focus his way.
This format needs to be a tourney! Lot of good ideas here

There are a lot of cool squads here actually. I will try a few of them out. I only have one Ghost so the dual Ghost ones are out, but many of the others are really nice. It will give a very strange feeling to fly ships with no upgrades I Think. ![]()

That used to be how you did it, or usually you'd only have an upgrade or two on a ship. Now 4 or 5 upgrades is the norm.
I'd much rather take my chances with 5 Interceptors, or 4 Concord Dawn Aces.
Yorr, Omega Leader, Zeta Leader, Countdown and Wampaaa.
