Synced Turret

I feel more and more like TLT should cost more or be errata'd somehow.

Personally I don't think point cost is the best move as it destroys 4x TLT squads. Hence I'm more in favour of an Errata to make it worth 6 points.

Various ideas have been bandied about, only get second shot if first shot hits, only get second shot if first shot misses, require TL, Spend a focus like blaster turret, only get second, shot on large and epic ships, dice can't be modified. Or change range to 1-2 instead of 2-3. Second shot at range two only.

I love Ion, Autoblaster and Synced Turret, but TLT is just better value and easier to use :(

Specifically range three access means that TLT users can keep at range three, often to their benefit, it's 6 times larger an area than range one for crying out loud.

Rant over, deadeye synced turret, it's the best :) a decent damage output, benfits for keeping people in arc, action dependent so can be counterplayed via bumping.

Also Deadeye Kavil Synced Turret with Unhinged astromech a proton Torpedo and guidance chips, just fantastic :) range three attack is solid for the joust, then it's either 4 die with focus or three with two rerolls and a focus :D

It all boils down to:

you got six points? Take TLT.

you don’t have 6 points? Well drop some Scyk and make room for TLT!

really can’t make room? Take synced. I guess. Or dorsal, it’s ok. ABT with AC, yeah!

But really, you can’t make room for 6 points?

Well ok....

Requiring arc for modifications on a turret is just plain silly imho. Requiring a TL for a turret is even more silly.

I will point you to the TLT thread where everyone and his mother is saying how to nerf the TLT, via requiring TL or in arc for second shot, and so on.

So could y wings with the title, synched turret and flight assist be a thing?

not sure if ywings without R2 or unhinged astromech will be able to keep things in arc.

I've tried r4 agromech with synced and the title, that way you take a focus shoot primary spend focus. R4 gives you the target lock and then shoot with turret with two rerolls. In theory does a fair bit of damage but dn are y wings easy to outfly

I ran a pair of Lok Revenants last night with Synced Turret and it was a lot of fun.

Lok Revenant (x2): Deadeye, Synced Turret, Harpoon Missile, Extra Munitions, Outlaw Tech, Guidance Chips

Sunny Bounder: Heavy Scyk, Linked Battery, Shield Upgrade.

Went 2-0 (Had to call the night short) with the highlight of the night being Sunny, with a focus token, rolling Hit-Crit on RAC... A less greedy player would have let it stand... Instead I rerolled the hit, got a 2nd crit, and then added the third.

I actually think i found a decent use for Doubleedge, ironically enough, since hes basically relegated to "unique generic with an ept" since his ability is almost impossible to get any real use out of.

Deadeye, Sync Turret, Unguideds, LWF -> 28pts. You still acquire the targetlock if you manage to get in a position where youre out of arc and arent going to need that focus for defense, but the big thing is it allows the initial approach to actually work. I was kinda surprised how effective he was...i'd fire Sync at any ship i could reach and if i missed i'd fire Unguided right after (never burn the focus unless it gets you all 3 hits and the target doesnt have a high chance of dodging it anyway).

2pts more than Sabaac for +1hp, -1 attack (but no -1 attack if hurt), and has much more freedom since he still has a turret.

I brought the Tie aggressor to the table for the 3rd time since it was released yesterday thinking, "Alright, I refuse to taint myself using TLT, lets give this Synched turret a go." I had Double Edge with LF, Dead Eye, synched turret and unguided missiles... Played against Flight assisted Wes Janson... never got to fire the bloody thing once!!!

And thereby hangs the big issue with token-requirements. Tokens can be stripped.

Thats why generally when you do something like that you need another more alluring target.
I had Backdraft/QD paired with that Edge build. Edge got ignored because everyone around here knows how freakin' deadly outmaneuver backdraft can be (i kinda...burned that into their brains when he came out lol).

Its also cheap enough where if your opponent is burning Wes to strip the token, he's more than likely ignoring a bigger threat.

Generally when i build a list 1 of my ships has some odd gimick that depends on something going his way (sabaac, deathrain, vader w/ cruise, vynder) and 1-2 other deadly or outright frustrating ships to either A) draw attention or B) punish you for not looking at them, allowing my odd gimick ship to either be the distraction or get its funny business off.

If the main threat in your list is dependent on something going his way, your list can be punished quite easily. One of the reasons i loathe 2ship lists, it generally means you only have 1 real trick and if your opponent can deal with it...welp...gl! lol
