Is there a page where someone has uploaded scans of the alt art promo cards? I know it may sound "cheap", but i really like some of the alternative artworks and i dont go to tournaments that often. (Too expensive travel costs) Also, im more of a casual player and for me its more about the flair and atmosphere of the game and i think some of the promo material looks much better than the normal card art. I have a few promo cards but Vader, MC80 and such are extremely hard to get, even at tournaments. And sorry, i dont feel like spending 50 bucks for Darth Vader on ebay, i can get a complete ISD for that! So any tips on that? I can understand if people feel like thats a bit "unfair" or something, but come on we would all print that Leia Commander Alt Art if we could get our hands on it!
Printing Promo Cards?
No, we all wouldn’t.
I only want it BECAUSE it’s rare.
I dont feel that way, but i can see the incentive. To me its just prettier Artwork to make the games look better :-)

It’s also technically illegal, as it is reproducing licensed artwork without permission.
And although not all countries will uphold that section of copyright law, printing and playing Armada in those limited countries would be more trouble than worth.
Edited by DrasnightaIs it though? Only for commercial use i thought. As long as its for private use only its hardly a copyright infringement. Otherwise downloading music from youtube, streaming etc would all be illegal too.

Terms of the license.
Remember, recording live Television IS illegal without permission.
Downloading copyright music IS illegal without permission.
Streaming IS illegal without permission of the copyright holder.
In this case, making YOUR OWN alternate art cards with your own or allowed artwork would be more permissible.
But printing out items marked with copyright FFG and LFL... totally not.
Edited by DrasnightaWell here in Germany you will not be charged for streaming or downloading/ printing copyright material from the internet, as long as its for noncommercial use. And its only for casual, privat play anyway.

Recording TV in the USA for personal use (to included time shifting) is covered by the "fair use exemption" as decided in Sony Corp. V. Universal City Studios also know as the betamax case.
None of that is illegal in the U.S., either. Just profiting off of it or uploading it such that you're disseminating it. That's how the FBI gets most streaming users.
Hit up the X-Wing forum. It's not uncommon for their regional communities to print off their own promo cards for unofficial events.
Why not do your own?
The Polish guys are doing some excellent stuff for their tourneys.
Or use some of the excellent art from 3rd party Armada websites.
Something I've been considering doing as an experiment. Not sure what paper to print it on.
Wouldn't an Alt Art Demolisher title card be neat?
Or better yet, a Tatooine Leia alternate art. Guaranteed to distract most male opponents into making a tactical mistake
I love the alternate artwork but I treat them like prizes (as most are just that). I love to get rare upgrades as Alt art (X17 anyone) that will help me build lists without actually having to buy a complete expansion to do so.
Personally I like to feel like I earned a card but I have friends that just have to have everything and don't enjoy tournaments so they just scour E-Bay to get everything.
I have a lot of Alt art Ship cards and upgrades but I still havn't gotten my hands on a single Alt art commander.
Now DIY special Alt Art cards printed on quality Card stock, now that I could get into. They wouldn't be tournament legal but they would be super fun.
I'm doing a bit of a trial run of custom alt-arts for our group (looks like I've tripped at the first hurdle and ordered cards that are slightly too large) using MakePlayingCards ( http://www.makeplayingcards.com ) after a few of our local X-Wing guys used it for some custom cards there. There's some templates out there for use with Photoshop or the like that'll let you set up cards in the standard format and put your own art in there.
Didn't have it sorted in time for Regionals but if anyone's at Euros or the UK Nationals there might be some extra cards getting handed out

Thats not (complety) true. And even less in other countries.
