Harsh Meta Environment?

By GottaBadFeelingAboutThis, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Let's say you're playing Imperial. Let's say you're running black-die figures like Vader. Let's go crazy and say you're running Zillo Technique.

Now let's say you're expecting you might run into Han Solo, on, say, Nal Hutta, standing next to his buddy C-3P0. Wouldn't you love to freeze him in carbonite?

But since you don't have any carbonite, maybe just shove him into a Harsh Environment?

I know, I know: super situational card. And you probably have a million better 0-point cards! But I'm trying to find some love for it anyway.

Where does it belong? Why, in Vader/Palp/Riot lists!

Jabba's Palace: Zillo discard? As if! We're adding a block to every attack! Enjoy your free block everywhere but the Rancor Pit! Your 2 black die defense just became 2 black + block. Your Riot Troopers are minor deities of longevity. Your EJets have plenty of economy for their Agile decision-making. The Emperor's 13 health are easily guarded! "But my opponent gets it too!" ... until Vader pierces 3, Palp lightning blasts them, and a Riot trooper adds weaken and strain with that one damage that barely made it through from the red die.

Mos Eisley Alleyways: The even-sides map just went uneven. You took the indoor side, right? Vader can literally stand at the threshold and anyone who approaches is doing so less an evade (did they come inside? Good thing you're packing Dark Energy and Looking for a Fight, right? Or if you're @ThatJakeGuy, you've got Onar to shove them back outside...). Did your forum-reading opponent stick you with the exterior deployment zone? Zillo block!

Nal Hutta Swamplands: Your Zillo block is still there, never fear! But before you toss it, give half a thought to letting these cold winds help you stay frosty in spite of C-3P0's Distracting presence near Han, and cheerfully take your shots at Han's paper armor. Not so cunning without your pal, huh?

Is this your best 0 point card? Nope! :D

... but it's playable, and I bet your opponent wasn't expecting bad weather!

This and Set A Trap are cards that I've had my eyes on for a while. The new map makes this one really interesting. Could also be worth it for Hunters. Sometimes you're overkilling anyway - with this, you get the kill still, but maybe your dude survives another attack.

Yeah, I think with Devious Scheme you could run this as well, especially on Mos Eisley, where you can conceivably force your opponent to hide behind their doors.

And in general, hunters can definitely use the extra defense, and they're more likely to overkill their targets, mitigating some of the trouble from giving your opponent extra blocks, too.

@GottaBadFeelingAboutThis Just want to pop in and say that I've been enjoying the unofficial series of threads that you've been putting up about underused figures/cards. Keep it up!

Now it's official

Jet troopers lose agile with this card too

I brought this card to our last four player event; adds a lot of chaos in a fun way.

I really do like how the map rotation makes sure you need to go back and examine cards again. Might have to pop this one in somewhere some time.
