It has happened in clone wars too. Twilek part not the whale.
Edited by TallGiraffeWait wait wait. Are you telling me that while magic space wizards with laser swords was something I could accept begrudgingly, NOW I have to believe that aliens and humans can make children together????
THIS IS TOO FAR! HOW DARE A NARRATIVE THING HAPPEN AND RUIN MY VERISIMILITUDE! Next you'll be telling me that human clones are real, men who've been literally bisected can still remain alive, and that the Rebellion will be able to defeat the all-consuming evil of Darth Vader with the power of love (after his wife dies of "the sads").

How could he have anything to do with it? Sorry, but I'm not going to use my imagination to fill plot holes left by professional screen writers.
Besides, there were other things that just strain believability. 10-20 rebels ALWAYS defeat thousands of imperial troops? Massed storm trooper aim is always THAT BAD? An unarmed space pig thrown onto a window distracts a room full of storm troopers from attempts to gain entry to their stronghold? So much so they start shooting at the space pig and completely ignore the more immediate threat to the great advantage of the rebels?
I think this is an example of terrible story telling of an poorly conceived story. They could have done much better, especially considering the ambiguous amount of time that remained between Rebels and Rogue One.
Sorry, just because I love Star Wars and enjoyed most of Rebels, doesn't mean I have to think the conclusion was good when it wasn't.
Dude, they established that Kanans will lives on through the wolfs when it came up to Ezra and said Dume. Sabine said it herself. Ezra said Kanan had one last lesson to teach him. There is no stretch, its there in the show.
And this is star wars......the rebels with a small ragtag fleet AlWAYS beat the empire....Look at the battle of yavin and the battle of endor. They were outnumbered 100-1 and they won. Your in the wrong realm if your having problems with this now.
I have a feeling we'll be getting alot more stuff from Heir to the Empire.

So I'm in the wrong place if I want to Rebels to win against a competent enemy so it seems like something was really accomplished? Ok. Good to know. Thanks.

Your watching an ending that is generated for pre teens. What did you think was going to happen, this isn't Rogue One. Them killing off Kanan was probably a bigger surprise to me as I thought for sure they would just tuck him away somewhere.
Everything you said is true for an adult show, but you need to take a step back and realize that this show wasn't geared towards us. One of things that the show has been strongly hinting at that while Thrawn may be good, his officers are not. Would a junior lackey be thrown off by the pig distraction. Sure you don't know what's following it up so the attention is focused.
Plot armor is fine, as the story was decent from beginning to end.

Your right, and I did say in my original criticism that I understand it is a kids show. But at the same time, they have adult content. For instance, they unambiguously and graphically (for a kid's show) killed lots of characters. And they know they had a lot of adult fan viewers. I'm just saying its boring when, before the episode airs, you know what's going to happen. Even for kids, pre-teens, early teens, etc.

I could have honestly said that the entire series. The only shocking thing that happened imo was that they killed Kanan and didn't send him off to the unknown as well. I enjoyed the series as a whole, but 95% of the time knew the conclusion within a few minutes of watching the episode. The title of this finale kind of gave the episode the info you needed to know it was the swan song send off episode.
I would like to chime in with the Kid issue.
Boy, I can't see where they had time to do the deed. Maybe I need to rewatch the season, but I never got the sense they were getting it on prior to the I love you/giant explosion.

I'm with you there, but I'm no expert in Twi'lek and human reproduction.....

It was obvious they had a thing for awhile. Maybe they had been... physical before, but that was the first time they dropped the big L on each other. Being in intense situations like they have been could easily lead to them being intimate without being romantic.

Uh, they did kill him off... he was getting strangled by a tentacle, and even if that didn't kill him he was standing 6 inches from a bunch of open broken windows right before his ship entered hyperspace across the galaxy. I'm no Chiss biologist, but I'm pretty sure spending a few moments in deep space, especially while at hyperspace, would kill one.

Crabbok,
Would you consider creating a thread for this? It seems worth of its own discussion.

They could have jumped to another planet with a breathable atmosphere

Besides, they imply that Ezra may be alive, so it stands to reason that the same would apply to Thrawn.

To play devil's advocate - if you look closely at the scene, you will see glass shards floating in the air, even though they should have fallen. Its entirely possible that Ezra was using the force to maintain the bridge atmosphere. It was subtle, but it was there.

But TLJ has established that hyperspace is just going really, really fast in a straight line, so they've still got to get through a bunch of deep space in an open bridge on the way. Also, with how much heat exists for re-entry into an atmosphere at normal velocities, could you imagine how hot Thrawn's face is gonna get when that open-windowed ship enters an atmosphere at hyperspace speeds? Ouch!

I'm only being facetious, I'm sure that Thrawn will survive. I'm pretty confident he'll have a decent role in Filoni's next series. I'd bet a decent sum of money that he, like Kallus and so many other villains writers end up falling in love with, will also eventually join the "good guys," possibly even against Snoke/First Order.

Thank you, I did not notice this.
Though it's a bit odd that Ezra would take the following stance:
"Dear Rebel friends, wolves, and Space Whales, please help me slaughter all of these low-level grunts stationed at Lothal. However, dear Space Whale, please allow me to keep Thrawn, the most ruthless and evil-hearted of our adversaries, who ordered and orchestrated all of the grunts we just killed, alive and well. Thank you."
"I'll finish what you started"- in before "Ezra is Snoke" theories. Though at this point in time, I'd actually like the idea that Kylo's catchphrase comes from a wrinkly old Ezra.
Whatever, back to topic: As someone who absolutely loves his non-force-sensitive villains, I leap with joy at the prospect of new stories of our favourite level-headed Dr. Watson.

If Ezra is Snoke... man he did not age well.

Ok. Just asking if you did. Admittedly I had to watch the scene twice to notice it and its significance.

I feel there's an interesting tragedy to be told here, isn't it, though?
