By Delta8, in Star Wars: Armada

Captain Paelleon! I apologize if he was mentioned before. Id love him in armada!!

I must have missed it. I did like how they made Rex at the battle of Endor now canon.

Oh man....can’t wait! Probably a few hours more till I get to watch it online.

Filoni always said he'd do it if he could.

He says it right when the space creatures attack

I felt a disturbance in the force, as if millions of EU fanboys cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

I absolutely loved the reference. It was a nice nod. And he would be fun to have in armada!

Captain Paelleon has the record for shortest arc of EU character in Canon.

I like how they had Rex actually dressed up in the Endor uniform for some of the show also.

eh, i thought that was pretty terrible. Saved by space plot armor. just like real life how blue whales bring down carriers on a daily basis...oh wait...

I really enjoyed and I am excited for the potential of standalone movies or future series!

That was just..... bad. Plot armor and deus ex machina don't even begin to cover this. Ezra suddenly becomes a tactical genius? Space whales save the day? Good lord, it's not even 9 am and I need a drink.

Thrawn's "Are you quite finished?" line was awesome though.

<three seconds later>

Captain Paelleon has been killed by a space whale!

I cannot disagree more with the deus ex machina part, but to each their own. The space whales was Ezra’s contingency plan with no idea how well it would work. His connection to living creatures was well established so it didn’t come out of nowhere.

Totally agree with your plot armor comment as well as the lame ineptitude of the Imperials overall, but those have been such a part of the show I just overlooked it.

Thrawn was awesome in the entire episode, and I think the series. Love the continuity that was maintained as to why he wasn’t around for much of the GCW. And I was going to be mad if they killed him off so I’m glad they left room for more story for him.

Gotta agree with Alpha and Domino on this. While I get it’s ultimately, officially, a kids’ show, I’m just tired (bored?) with 40 inch thick plot armor, the “good guys” ALWAYS winning and the most implausible things happening to save the day. Honestly, it really is boring knowing that the Rebels are always going to succeed and the empire is always going to fall for whatever diversion some random Rebel comes up with.

Im guessing the space whales are sentient to the point of discussing tactics and engaged in diplomatic relations of some kind so as to be able to get radio information to start that attack? One was also able to grab Thrawn, picking him out from everyone else on the bridge, without looking? Deus ex machina, indeed.

Perhaps shows like Game of Throwns have made me jaded. I like it when bad guys win from time to time so they can seem, you know... competent. This finale was a perfect opportunity to have the bad guys win and seem like the huge threat they keep being made out to be.

You completely gloss over the fact that Ezra is using the force to guide the creatures. Also Kanan may have been involved which is why Ezra said they had to attack now to coincide with the timing of the whales. I am not saying that it doesnt have its plot holes but its completely plausible with how the show has gone.

Plot armor has been a thing since the very first Star Wars movie. Part of what makes it Space Opera and not Sci Fi.

I'm....thorn on how I feel. Awesome that Pellaeon gets mentioned, and he may not be dead. Thrawn gets dragged off to who knows where....but may still be alive. I guess it took Ahsoka five years to dig out of those ruins.... And wait, how did that kid even happen???

Ok... The whales communicate in a way that is compressible to humans and vice versa? And Kanan is dead. That was clearly established in the last episode. How could he have anything to do with it? Sorry, but I'm not going to use my imagination to fill plot holes left by professional screen writers.

Besides, there were other things that just strain believability. 10-20 rebels ALWAYS defeat thousands of imperial troops? Massed storm trooper aim is always THAT BAD? An unarmed space pig thrown onto a window distracts a room full of storm troopers from attempts to gain entry to their stronghold? So much so they start shooting at the space pig and completely ignore the more immediate threat to the great advantage of the rebels?

I think this is an example of terrible story telling of an poorly conceived story. They could have done much better, especially considering the ambiguous amount of time that remained between Rebels and Rogue One.

Sorry, just because I love Star Wars and enjoyed most of Rebels, doesn't mean I have to think the conclusion was good when it wasn't.

Thought the exact same thing.

When a man and a Twilek love each other very much...

Im a bit confused by the claims thay the bad guys never win, the empire wins all the time.

They're different species. Shouldn't be possible.

And I bet the next Rebel ship will be a hyperspace capable whale....
