Just wondering how we arrived at the term "100/6" because it doesn't make sense to me. You don't bring 6 obstacles with your 100 point squad, you bring 3.

100/3 makes more sense.

200/6 makes even more sense, since matches in this format are always 1v1.

This is really serious stuff and we need to get it sorted out pronto. Pewpew.

Because you generally refer to squad points per player and obstacles per board. (A 50-point game is 50 per player; you don’t hear that and assume 25 per player).

It's probably just the common perception of the game (100 Point squads everywhere...) and you see 6 asteroids on the table when playing...

It's a legacy thing from when we always used the same 6 asteroids I guess.

You have to go up against 100 pts of opposition, and fly around 6 tokens of obstruction.

I think you just mean x-wing? There are no other formats (that matter).

Because in most wargames the terrain is independent of the list, so while you are looking at the point values for one side, because that is your budget, the terrain on the board is considered as a whole.

More games these days (such as x-wing) are folding terrain decisions and placement into list building and pre-game deployment, but the convention that has developed sees the playing surface (which includes terrain) as independent of the player’s lists.

Plus, as Admiral Deathrain mentions, in the beginning there wasn’t a choice of obstacles, just the same 6 asteroids.

Too bad tournaments haven’t allowed you to drop a huge ship instead of 3 obstacles. Everything else from Epic seems to be creeping in.

Keep suggesting we do a Game Night kit where that's allowed. it does really, really change the dynamic of the game, because it provides such a large obstruction but also actually blocks movement...

Especially true if both players bring one.
