This game is pretty interesting and one of my favorites to date. Who knew running was a valid strategy? Please enjoy episode 9 of the Runewars BattleCast!
Runewars BattleCast #9 - Daqan vs Waiqar. Running is a valid strategy!
I really liked this one. You wasted a lot of time with that cavalry going all around. It definitely was a very interesting game. I would have put Rank Discipline on crossbowmen. Although in this game you got very good rolls with them, my experience indicates is not always like that.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment. I did waste time....but also not really. The cav are a pretty low cost unit. They picked up an obj token and managed to kill a unit of archers so really they performed not to badly. However, I wont deny the luck of my crossbowmen rolls or the frequency of the green runes (thank god!). A very odd game indeed.
Thanks for batrep, keep them coming. Ranked discipline on 3x1 xbows is a must for me.
Really interesting game. And the camera work has improved ?
Your comment about picking your battles is spot on. I had a game with a 9-tray unit of Reanimates, and he had the Spearmen 9-tray built for max damage. I said, "No thanks," and kept my Reanimates away from them as long as possible. He ended up getting my smaller unit of Reanimates with Ankaur Maro, but it was late enough in the game that I didn't mind losing him.
I liked your thoughts about considering the purpose of an opponent's unit. If it's job is to hold you up, like your Scion example, it could behave differently than expected. Definitely food for thought.
Great video! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! I'm amazed your reanimates managed to outrun the Spearmen. Those shambling corpses need some new running shoes. Mypponent is very good at throwing nasty tricks in my direction so I have to adapt or loose. He has shown me how valuable a single unit can be vs a massive unit.
Thanks for the video! I love watching these and you do a great job of describing each turn. Keep them coming! I did have a question though... wasn't the reanimate block carrying an additional 80 points of objective tokens? Maybe I'm just missing something.
Thanks for the kind words! They make my making videos worth it :). I think he had 60 points in tokens. I think what we ended up doing was subtracting the tokens out of the equation. Because I had 60 points in tokens and he had 60 points in tokens we may have just calculated the Army cost. That was definitely not made clear haha.
