B-Wing List

By RedDogReb, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Casual, noob gamer. Love B-wings, and know they aren't massively competitive. So while I'm not bothered about being competitive, I don't want to roll over in a turn or 2!

Would appreciate comments/criticism of the following list:

Keyan Farlander

Rage

FCS

B Wing/E2

Inspiring Recruit

Total - 34

Ibtisam

PTL

Total - 31

Nera Dantels

FCS

Plasma Torps

Extra Munitions

B-Wing/E2

Bodhi Rook

Total

35

100 points.

I was thinking of starting in an inverted V with Keyan and Ibtisam ahead of Nera.

Bodhi will then allow Nera to get Target locks in ships within 3 of the front two, and launch plasmas on T2/3.

However I also think there is a bit of redundancy in having FCS and Bodhi Rook, so am considering removing the crew altogether to take Guidance Chips and a 2 point upgrade. Maybe Intensity? If I take this, then probably fly line abreast at the start.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Nera should have Deadeye, FCS and Guidance Chips

Ibtisam needs a little help; at least add Collision Detector because it’s free. I think Ibtisam would be better served with Wired, E2 and Hera.

@jmswood Thanks - I can see the benefits of those on Ibtisam and Nera. I did have Collision Detector on Ibtisam, just forgot to mention it.

Now in at 99 points.

Yep, all this stuff. I've tested the Hera-Wired Ibtisam build and it's legit. Still probably not S-tier but she's a coherent little workhorse.

if you've got a point free, I'd maybe bump Keyan up to Advanced Sensors. You won't really need the TLs from FCS due to Rage, and AdvS will help make sure you (almost) always get to use Rage, including if you get blocked.

@CoffeeMinion thanks. Will try that change.

Played a game with it last night. Rebel on Rebel action, vs Rey in M. Falcon and PS9 Poe.

Although I lost Ibtisam, I got the other two, Poe first and then the Falcon.

Now I want to play my son (who keeps beating me LOL). He's got a list with a tooled up slave 1 (Bobba) and a Tie d (?) in it. Its murdered me a couple of times (different lists). Best result I've managed was getting the Tie D.

Yeah, if you want triple Bs, here is my suggestion:

Keyan

Rage

Collision Detector

E2

Inspiring Recruit

Ibtisam

Wired

Collision Detector

Linked Battery

E2

Hera

Nera

Deadeye

FCS

EM

Proton Torps

GC

Keyan has his triple rerolls, focus for attack and defense. Ibtisam has functionally a target lock, a wide open dial, rerolls on defense. Nera can fire torps easily, anywhere, with auto eye and blank crits, plus, later on, FCS TLs for help.

I'm not part of the Rage Keyan Fan Club. I just don't think Keyan needs it with his ability and either FCS or Linked Battery. It opens up a couple more options for him with EPTs as well.

PTL is probably the most popular but I do really like Stay On Target as a fun option especially since B-wings aren't super competitive anyways. It lets Keyan be a hunter of lower pilot skills. You can just about every time dial in a 2K-turn and change to something that will get him a shot. It's a lot of fun ad long as your opponent isn't all 8+ (which can happen).

Apologies for the lateness of response, I had issues logging on.

@Greebwahn thanks for the different list. I'll try that.

@Skeether thanks also. I'll try the PTL (or maybe Stay On Target).

Sorry for the noob question, but what is EPT?

This will probably sound ridiculous, but I have seen it in action.

ten numb - VI, mangler cannon, b-wing-E2, sabine wren, EM, proton bombs, trajectory simulator - 47 points total.

sounds insane, because it's a B-wing, but he paired it with a decked out Nym, Harpoons, bombs, the works. Nym would Harpoon someone and Ten would mangler it. As long as he rolled a hit, the mangler would change it to a crit, and Ten's ability means you can't cancel it. That, and having 2 ships that can trajectory bomb you is brutal.

EPT is Elite Pilot Talent. Sorry for all the shorthand but this game is full of it. There used to be a list somewhere with a lot of it but I can't remember.

@Skeether no worries - A lot of the acronyms I can work out, that one just got me though!

@Biggsy_boy I don't have a Nym (too meta for me!). That said, maybe I should get one....

I play for fun only, although a 'friendly' competition (if one exists) might be something I'll consider in the near future. I know my son wants to do a competition or two though.

Having done competitions in other game systems/rules I know it will be a steep learning curve, but hopefully a good one.

Meta or not, the scurgg is a fun ship. Plus, when you can make ridiculous builds like that work, and even semi-competitive, it's sooo much more fun.

@Biggsy_boy stop getting me to spend money!!! LOL
