Stay On Target: A Reflection On Master of the Fleet

By Captain Weather, in Star Wars: Armada

I really wish you’d stop swearing so much. I was cooking tea a few days back watching motf. My six year old walked into the kitchen just as you dropped a very loud f bomb.

It’s a pain to cook while wearing ear buds.

nice write up by the way.

Great write up, as always, Luke.

I'm just glad the community still has you guys. (I remember the dark days, when a RuneWars booklet made it into a video...) I want you all to keep playing and sharing these games with us. I think it is so valuable. (Counterpoint to LTD - Please swear more :) )

Looking back, that Worlds 2016 final and team tournament was maybe the highlight of Armada for me so far. Such a great time, a great sense of community, and many beers. (There are a lot of great times that have been had drinking beer and playing with StarWars ships.)

I also have to say that you guys are a huge part of why this community is great. MotF is always awesome, and I get truly excited to see what you guys come up with. Keep it up!

Love all the content. I think the Batreps are the best I've watched because Ken runs the camera around and you actually get all the angles. Too many others are static.

Keep up the good work and hope you guys get the scariff gate.

We are pretty close to getting it!

On which note Ken has reminded me that I should drop the obligatory: https://www.patreon.com/motf

We definitely went into the wilds there for a little while due to life and other reasons (we only did one batrep during all of Wave 6 for example).

But we’re really in a good groove at the moment and it’s a great place to be.

Best seen in the episode where he plays the very mannerly british gentleman :D

Just read it. Thanks for this, it's like the Simarillion to your awesome channel!

Dammit you just triple tapped my heart.

I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING.

Like someone naturally rolling all doubles on Salvation. We hit you hard when you least expect it.

Also we just hit 2,000 subs!

This was lovely. And speaks so much to what the Armada community can be at its best.

Before this game I never knew it was possible to fly round the world, get your *** kicked on camera and have a great time leaving with people I’d actually consider friends after just a few hours. That’s what MotF and Armada have done.

Then there’s the substance: the cool batreps, the useful tactical guides, the impressive production values. It’s a labour of love and it shows. And the community is grateful for it.

Thanks guys and good luck!

Well you've got a title there Strategic Adviser, so you're at minimum an honorary part of the team, and most definitely welcome back any time.

Our friends are always welcome.

Hi. This is not the first time I say this, I love your videos. And it's not just for being the best shot the spirit you spend in the video is wonderful, the joy of playing is contagious. I live in Brazil and the game here is practically dead. And when I see the videos of you I feel that if I was playing with you, I have fun and laugh during the game, not to mention that I'm always learning something in the videos.

I do not know if this text you have published is a farewell text, I sincerely hope not. I'm always looking forward to seeing something new on your channel.

Although we do not know them, we feel like we're friends. That may be strange, but that's how I feel. Like I said, I hope it's not a farewell text. I love it, its games, jokes and videos. Long live masters of fleet.

This was a really lovely message, I totally understand the feeling of watching or listening to someone where you feel as if you’re already friends. It’s a great compliment to know that we do that!

And don’t worry it’s not a farewell text, although admittedly it does read like one at times.

We’re hanging around a while yet.

Thanks.

I loved knowing that the idea is not stopping. I` m very happy.

And until the next game

I love what and how you are doing Master of the Fleet YouTube channel. I feel the same for the article, it was really refreshing to read. I know what to expect from Battle Reports but you (or now that I know, Ken) have done a great job in creating also other kind of videos. I especially liked Captain's Clinic's Rookie mistakes to avoid and Tips and tricks for new players. When a friend of mine also invested in Armada it was just natural to link them to him. Maybe you could also do a third video in that line and address the most usual rule errors?

I enjoy every time you publish new content. I am relieved that you are planning to continue to the foreseeable future. Thank you for your time and effort!

Please tell me you guys are coming back to Worlds for 2018, we can grab a drink or two and commiserate about wanting to be asleep at 1300 Local Time.
