Star Wars Modular Walkways - FREE 3D Files

By Tabletop Oddity, in Star Wars: Legion

Today I've released something free I've been working on for absolutely ages!

Basically I've been working on some modular 3d printed walkways and platforms. And I've released phase 1 today.

O it's all free! I know I mentioned that but I thought worth saying again.

You can check out the video here:

Or if you don't want to see my annoying face, you can just grab them from thingverse:

Nice. But safety railings? In the Star Wars universe?

Heh! I thought about not having them, but having them allowed me to cover up some of the holes. Now I could have gone with clip on stuff but wanted it to be a bit more solid. You could use it without the railings but you'd have random holes :)

Really awesome stuff. Makes me want a 3D printer even more :S

Getting mine was a big decision but I think it is paying off. Just the versatility to make what I want is refreshing. It may eventually pay for itself in a sense, for example the 4ground industrial hive, very nice but can be a bit expensive. I've also printed building etc. So maybe worth!

I do none 3d printed stuff on the channel as well :)

I cannot explain how perfect of timing this is. I've spent all day looking for railings for my docking bay. Thanks a million!

If you need to modify anything, let me know, I might be able to help :)

Endor had them, and vader lost his hand holding onto one in rotj iirc...... they were just very non specific about placement :P

Nice work and great stuff making them free.

Cloud city had them too and look what happened to Luke.... ?

I was in the middle of designing something very similar haha I've abandoned mine and will definitely be using these. Much appreciated

I would get myself one if I had the space to put it in ;) But currently my work/hobbyroom is filled to the brim :S

I'm not an expert 3d designer or anything, so I would strongly consider carrying on! You never know what you might create!

I've added a new platform with a hole in the middle that fits nicely with the ladder.
I've also added some new barriers with a bit more defensive. I prefer the half style as the full one looks a bit odd from one side.
Both available in the zip on thingverse

No idea how to get an image here as it won't let me :)

Thank you very kindly. I will do :) well, I'll try!

great and respect to you for making these availebel.

Thanks.

Anyone got any links to paint tutorials for ways to paint this up?

@Tabletop Oddity was just wondering what model of 3d printer you use for these?

Also I straight up LOVE these... and plan to get some printed up to help me make a Capital Ship Interior Board for the upcoming Flet Troopers to play with.

Erm, probably a bit early. I would suggest maybe a grey primer and a wash, you could call it done :) maybe a dry brush

I use a monoprice maker select v2 I think.

And cool, would love to see pics when you are done :)

@Tabletop Oddity What 3D model program did you use to design the walkways in? They are looking pretty fantastic!

I used Tinkercad, really simple, free online software. I'm not a pro 3d designer or anything! Thanks.

Very nice. Thanks for making this and information about it available. I was looking for a method to make my walkways for my elevated landing base. I think these will work nicely. I can use them for other games too, such as Infinity and Necromunda.
