Which ship is your crew using?

My group is using a YT-1250 but we've so far only used it once as most of our adventures have taken place on Ord Mantell.

For rebels or small crew set up ships it depends on what you are planning on doing in the game. For freighters it's hard to go wrong with a Corellian ship like the YT-2000 and the HWK 290 and HWK 1000 are great little ships. For rebels looking for a pocket gunship the Firespray-31 System Patrol Craft, Surronian Conqueror-Class Assault Ship, and UT-60D U-Wing Troop Transport are all solid. The ILH-KK Citadel-Class Light Freighter and YV-929 Light Freighters are slower but even more heavily armed, but they are also a bit out of the price range of a starting ship for PCs.

My group has one of these as well, the YT-1250.

Which ship is your crew using and why?

For a rebels type game or a small crew type of game, which is the one that you think is a great choice for a starting group?

Thanks,

I started my group with a YV-929 Armed Freighter they found floating derelict in an astroid field ('parked' on one of the asteroids). On investigating it, they found the corpses of the mangled crew floating about while much of the ship was damaged, including the hyper-drive. It didn't help that while investigating the derelict, the ship they were a crew of was destroyed by a 'passing' Star Destroyer... The first set of adventures revovled around exploring the uninhabited system looking for a suitable drive and other systems. While exploring a planet, the original owners (Rebels) of the ship showed up and stripped out the weapons, shields, computer, etc. In the end, the Rebels needed to leave (fearing the return of the Imperials) but left them enough tools to fix critical systems and the group eventually found the other required systems to fly it. Now, whenever they make any extra credits they pump it back into what is becoming a nice ship.

Long story short, we came into a windfall after our Hotdog restaurant on Bespin exploded and we received a huge insurance payout. This was not a shady job *glances nervously around*. Rather than build a fancy new restaurant we decided to split the money. I purchased the beautifully clunky Wayfarer, as I was looking to establish a petting zoo/animal hire for the carelessly wealthy. The Pelican (as its named) has everything I could need for the capture and transport of creatures of all sorts. The hangar has been retrofitted to house a Scyk Interceptor (to protect against attacks, given that the wayfarer is very light on armaments) as well as a speeder truck for transporting critters on the ground. The transport (the Slipper Fish) has been modified to be an amphibious vehicle, so as to expand the scope of potential animals to track and capture (i'm a survivalist bounty hunter, although I must admit i haven't taken any proper bounties in a while). Anyway, here she is! I like to do up the maps/ships for our campaign. Hope you like it!

We’ve used a variety of ships in our games over the years. The GX-1 Short Hauler was popular, as was the classic YT-1300. The YV-929 was also en vogue for a while.

Our current ship is a modified G-1A Heavy Starfighter. It’s a pretty serviceable ship and has some pretty good modifications. Plus, we put in a lot of effort designing the deck plans in a way that would actually work with the scale of the ship. I imagine we’ll stick with this ship for a while (though the KST-100 is attractive...).

Started off in Dawn of Defiance, A player brought in a YT-2400, since then the group has acquired a YT-1300(Sold it), A luxury yacht 3000(Now modded for combat), A Lambda. The players have legally bought a Lancer Pursuit-class, C-ROC, YU-410(converted from Saga), and found a Delta-12. Luckily one of the characters has a ton of ranks in Sound Investment to take care of all the docking fees.

Thanks for the mention of the G1-A, I went and looked it up. it's not particularly stellar but the modification potential is impressive. The KST-100 though is still easily the best starter ship in the game for most EotE parties.
