Multiples for Skirmish?

By Mesrob, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Guys, do you recommend buying multiples of any of the following for Skirmish?

ISB Infiltrators

Hired Guns

Echo Base Troopers

Alliance Ranger Troopers

Wookie Warriors

Rebel Saboteurs

Rebel Troopers

For Campaign, I bought one of each of the above, but for Skirmish, is it worth it to buy several expansions of each? Is there really any need in the current Meta for four hired guns expansions, or 3 ISB Infiltrators as examples? Thanks everyone.

The only multiple I have is the Alliance Smuggler. I wanted to run a pair of them for objective control at regionals, and they really pulled their weight

If any lists with multiples look interesting to you, test it out with a proxy or on vassal before shelling out the money.

Of the packs you have listed, I personally wouldn’t mind if I found a killer deal on another set of Alliance Rangers or Hired guns, but neither are really necessary.

I own one of everything. I play whatever list I fancy, and borrow stuff I need in addition. The only stuff I borrow(ed) with any regularity is alliance smugglers (bought a second), jet elite card, weequai elite card, sentry elite card. A second alliance ranger pack would be usefull, if you like running a dual list (most people use han/other fat guy instead of a second ranger pack, but it's certainly viable).

if you can't borrow or are a collecting nut then feel free to buy more than one of things.

currently things that do well in multiples are the rangers and the smugglers outside of that the time has passed for the other units.

I have the following

2 rangers

3 smugglers

2 hired guns

2 wookies

2 isb

3 echo base troopers

2 terros

2 rangers

2 sabs

1 rebel troopers

do I use them all? no, just the rangers and smugglers. That'll change with the next wave though I'm sure

I have multiples of some units, I used to play, but don't play anymore (e.g. Wookies, Echoes, Sabs).

Still, I often use 2 eRangers and up to 3 smugglers. At the moment, I'd recommend those, especially at least 2 Smugglers ...

Guys, thanks for the advice!

Can I add a few more to the list in determining if you need multiples for skirmish:

Dewback Rider

Bantha Rider

Jawas

How many mulitples of these? Thanks for your time!

the max number of dewbacks you can field is 3 (2x elite dewback, Terro). I'd like to pick up a second one of these in the future, because i think the dewbacks are solid units.

you could technically run 2 banthas, but it's tough to have multiple massive figures. it causes so problems with movement, so i don't plan to ever pick up another dewback.

I'd like to have another jawa. you could technically have up to 6 (2x elite, 4 x regular), but that seems excessive to me. A couple of elites would allow you to get up to 6 droids from other factions, so I think there could be some value for diverse lists that way. I think a second would be good, but don't know if #3-6 is worth it.

You can go with 2 dewbacks.

Bantha's don't run well in pairs.

Only reason to take more than 1/2 jawa's is if you plan on running a theme list.

I used to play double Bantha A LOT. But that was another meta (more Troopers, other maps). I wouldn't play a single Bantha at the moment.

Terro and the Dewbacks are great, but are too swingy for me. I prefer units with a reroll. Terro's dice have let me down on several win/lose situations.

rJawa's are amongst the best units for their cost. Still I usually play only one eJawa for the droid alliance. 2point figures are not as good in the current meta as they used to be.

ISBs are the only unit I don't have at all. They are just bad.

They're not a great figure, but they do have some Very good command cards if you ever want to run spies:

- Comm Disruption
- Cut Lines
- Data Theft
- Strategic Shift

Units you really need more than one of are usually not blisters. EJets, eWeequays, eSentries, eRiots, Officers. (In the past: Ugnaughts, eTuskens, Royal Guards, eStormtroopers, eProbes, rHKs.)

I bought a blister and sold everything but the command cards and skirmish mission ... ;)
