Cannot Get Your Ship Out March 2018

By Snipafist, in Star Wars: Armada

I killed Jack's Interdictor (same build under Thrawn) Saturday when I fired full squadrons and 2 CR90 shots at it for THREE TURNS. It was MOST WANTED. The ship WON'T DIE.

WHY WON'T IT DIE??????????????

I had the pleasure of tangling with that monster round one. Hands down one of, if not THE, most frustrating ships I've ever had the headache of battling. I predict we might start seeing a lot more of this much maligned ship in the coming year. I would have been better off engaging his gnarly ISD.

What else was in the list?

Raddus on an MC30 Admonition with Ordnance Experts and External Racks
Jaina's Light TRCR90 (with Hondo driving!)
GR75 Quantum Storm with Slicer Tools
GR75 (naked!)
and he loves it when you call him Big Poppa:
MC75 Armored with External Racks, Boarding Troopers, Aspiration, Damage Control Officer, ECM, Leading Shots, Quad Battery Turrets

It looks like there is at least 1 more TRCR90 and a 22pt bid?

Any squadrons? What other objectives did you run besides Fire Lanes?

Crap, forgot those squadrons. I'll update it tonight with that all. But it was Tycho, Shara, and 2 VCXs

Very nice. Your squadron compliment is exactly what I'm using in my own Sloane fleet. They're so good.

Yeah, it's the Sloane 134 loadout popularized by @Green Knight and it's pretty good. I've been considering swapping out Dengar+Valen for Soontir+Zertik (same cost), given that Intel and Dengar's buff only sometimes come in handy (usually I'm focused early on just eliminating enemy squads) but access to Escort and another source of ping damage might be better. Not sold on that yet, but I'm considering it.

Note: for Sloane, not everyone ;)

  • Distance 1 of a friendly ship. One mousefart of distance 1 is still within distance 1, so you can stretch it pretty far. Cardboard to cardboard, though, kids. Not plastic to plastic, don't cheat like that.

Range for Attacks is measured Cardboard to Cardboard.

Non-Attack "Distance" measures, such as "Am I in Range of Home one?" are component to component .

Which includes Plastic.

(But not Shield Dials or the Plastic that Frames them).

"

  • When the ship comes in, you set its dials, speed, and (if you're bringing Aspiration) its shields. BECAUSE that ship is set aside, nothing that happens at the start of the game (specific examples: Endeavor on a Liberty or Bail Organa entirely) gets to occur. There was an FAQ about this, which I'll link to HERE ."

Things that would happen at start of round however, will happen. :)

Huh, didn't know that. I'll change it when I get home tonight. I'll also clarify the "start of round" stuff triggers then too.

No Worries :D

Component to Component is actually the base rule

Attacks being Hull Zone to Hull Zone (and thus, Cardboard to Cardboard) is actually the exception :)
