FFG needs to address this. The game is getting so convoluted that even the devs can't keep it straight.

FWIW I did send them an email/inquiry regarding this. Not sure what their response rate is, though.

In short, it might be in the next FAQ if you're lucky.

Squad building is in the "Gather Forces" step which is step 1. So the ship is docked by step 2. "Place Forces" is step 5 so when Thweek gets to chose right before then, the phantom has already been docked so it cannot chose a docked ship, because docked ships cannot be assigned tokens.. ergo you cannot give it the mimicked/shadowed token.

No game effect tells you to use the token at all. The pilot ability says to apply a condition card, not the token if that matters. The token is just a reminder piece for the card condition.

Does the "etc." cover condition cards? Find out in the next FAQ... maybe.

Inactive does not mean non-existent. Inactive does not mean out of play.

All we know about rules from docked ships that affect ships in play (see Phantom title)

Just putting some considerations.

Thweek card text:

During setup, before the "Place Forces" step, you may choose 1 enemy ship and assign the "Shadowed" or "Mimicked" Condition card to it.

Before Place Forces you have no active ships in game.

So if a docked ship has shields, you can't assign token shields, right?

You are assigning a card like you assign upgrade cards, the token is a reminder (like numbers for ships). So i think you can assign the condition card.

Condition cards:

After a ship is assigned a Condition card, assign the associated Condition token to that ship as a reminder of that card's ongoing effect.

Looking at the effects of the Thweek condition:

Mimicked has no problems: "Thweek" is treated as having your pilot ability.

"Thweek" cannot apply a Condition card by using your pilot ability.

"Thweek" does not lose your pilot ability if you are destroyed.

Shadowed has a doubt:

"Thweek" is treated as having the pilot skill value you had after setup phase.

The pilot skill value of "Thweek" does not change if your pilot skill value changes or you are destroyed.

So imagine a Docked ship with adaptability ( Question about that in this forum from emeraldbeacon ).

What is the pilot skill for the docked ship? If the rules said that the docked ship skip the Place Forces step and makes his own Place step when deployed, there is no doubt about that. The ship follow all the rules during setup except for placement and is out of play area until deployed.

After this considerations, my opinion is that Thweek can affect a docked ship:

Docked ships (and their equipped Upgrade cards) are placed to the side of the play area.

Docked ships does not skip the Place Forces, they are placed on an different manner. As long as they are placed you must decide the effect for Adaptability and other effects applicable. So Shadowed has target PS.

Then you assign shield tokens, etc.
