11 minutes ago, The Archangel said:Vader, Palp, ATDP, Jets, Riots, Sentries, Terro, BT-1, and Imps can temp in cheap, strong Hunters like Onar, Vinto, & Greedo. There's also the MVP of every Imp list, Zillo Technique. I just witnessed a game where Vader took focused fire for two rounds from a Smuggler list with 5 of the 6 Rebels you named in it and live to the end of the game.
I find your lack of faith disturbing.
The other problem for rebels is they really HAVE to use objectives to win, which makes it hard to build for a diversity of maps. You're just not going to have a kill-focused list. You basically have the points for 2 holdout figures (take your pick of Chewie, Jedi Luke, Drokatta), a finesse player, or two if you take only one holdout (Han, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Ko-Tun), and an embarrassing wealth of cheap support/objective runners (Gideon, 3P0, R2-D2, rsmuggler).
So the rebels have an edge on crate retrieval missions (Raining Freight except maybe vs ugnaughts, Crate retrieval on Mos Eisley with 32 points on board, crate carrying on Jabba's Palace), but suffer on "Stand on a Box" missions (Shields on Nal Hutta, Crate Points in Mos Eisley, Stashes in Jabba's Palace).
I'd give Vader/riot lists the edge for box-standing on Mos Eisley and Jabba's Palace, and Vader/Jets for box standing on Nal Hutta: cheerfully for them, they can do bring both! And EJets are a serviceable unit for Raining Freight (and have phenomenal movement opportunities in Mos Eisley alleys, and decent ones in Jabba's Palace), especially with Vader's Force-Choke and Palp's Tempt pinging away rSmugglers at long range. Jabba's Palace pickup mission is rough on movement points, freezing troops where Vader/Palp can get at them.
In general, it seems that:
Imps have best defense, middle attack, poor support
Mercs have best attack, middle support, poor defense
Rebels have best support, middle attack, poor defense
