A plea to FFG: Custom gaming tools, aids, tokens etc are simply great prizes. I love them! However not all Armada players want to, or even have the chance to, play in official tournaments. So please, please make official generic versions of the prizes that can be used in-game (like acrylic ruler sets, acrylic tokens, ship trays, etc) available for purchase by what must surely be the majority of Armada players.

I don't disagree that they're leaving money on the table by not doing this, but just so you know, there are lots of options out there for that stuff .

Oh, my wallet and I know that all too well! But I would prefer that my rulers, etc were official. And maybe, just maybe, if FFG can make more money out of us, we might possibly get more new toys to play with.

But this means it will be the same bad worlds as 2016.

45+ player, 4 rounds, and top 2 come into the final.

This is way to much luck based this way. One bad matchup, one opponent who does not want to fight and is running, and you are nearly out of the cut. Using the bye is really bad this way. 8 points and 140 MOV might be already not enough.

2017 was way better (i heard, i was not there). With one big pool and more rounds. But doing a worlds with 80+ players means as well a lot of space.

I loved the format of the 2017 worlds, I don't think 4 rounds is enough Armada. Oh well, tickets bought already, appears it is all over except the crying.

*edit note* I didn't experience the other way, so not saying 4 rounds is or isn't enough for the competition, but I'm just saying it's not enough Armada. Period.

I'm just seethingly Jealous, and I've basically renegotiated all of my debt loans with the bank this week, in an effort to attempt to buy a 3D Printer by the end of the year, to potentially fund a trip to worlds next year...

Every X-Wing, Netrunner, IA, ... player got one copy of the Armada Promo card. There was really no problem to get a copy of the one you need.

I have no idea how the price wall worked in 2017 (and will work this year). But as i understand you can get tickets for each game/win. And you can use these to buy what you want.
But this is no compare to the prices they gave out in 2016 (as far as i can compare). In 2016 you got: 2 Aramda Promo, 1 of each Promo from each game (~6 cards, this means a 3rd Armada Promo), Top prices like always (dice, range ruler, speed dials, ...) and goodies for each win. Best were VSD plastic promo and Luke promo from the Team event.

On the other side, i am sure they will give out the Leia on the store kits, as they did 2017. I was afraid to get Dodonna, after i heard that they don't give out this many anymore. But via the Store kits they were easy enough to get.

They have made no mention of it - last year there was a whole song and dance on “stream kit” and associated prizes...

given that it’s march and we’re yet to see even q1 kits, I have no such expectations.

Maybe I missed it, but did they mention what size cards fit in the binder? I think last year there was a choice between regular and the smaller cards.

That was kinda the conclusion that I arrived at. Not worth blocking out that much travel time "just in case" I make a cut. End of March is also a very short notice on if I can get another tournament ticket for my better half.
