Worlds prizing

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

The North - and the Internet - Remembers, so I doubt it'll do them any good to take it down because of spoilers. That train has long left the station! Unless there are some reasons linked to their business partners (Lucasfilm/Disney) that prevent them from keeping it up after having released it prematurely.

Or it could have absolutely nothing to do with potential spoilers and just be that they got some details on the prizes wrong.

I had the page open still so here's the direct links to the pics of the prizes:

Command Tokens

Every player who manages to win at least three games in the Star Wars : Armada World Championships earns a complete set of command tokens. These eye-catching tokens feature black print on mirrored gold acrylic, and they make assigning your commands as aesthetically pleasurable as tactically satisfying.

While each player with at least three wins will earn a single set, players can earn a second set of these tokens by managing to win at least four games on Day 1, or claim a third full set by conquering the field with an undefeated record of five wins.

These tokens are also available on the prize wall.

I hope they are fixing the fact they have the same dice as last year pictured. Not changing the DICE prize was is the consistent year in year out trinket that people expect at tournaments to just be different than last years is pretty lame.

really wishing I had submitted application for worlds now...

Dornean Gunship in that profundity art.

Pretty much confirms that'll be Wave 8 for rebels IMO.

It was present in the Profundity box art already too :) It's the same art

So.... I already paid $100 for the Vic I alt art.... and I need the Glad I alt art...

they had the same dice for 2015 and 2016, so that isn't a surprise they kept them 2 years running this time... That I'm on the wait and hope for a spot on the 31st list my OCD likes the repeat dice, takes anxiety off since I will still have a complete alt dice collection.... now I only have OCD anxiety for the Leia and Glad cards..

What is a prize wall? You can but it or something?

You get prize tickets for playing and winning games and can trade them in for your choice of prize on the wall. Usually includes some hard to get stuff from all the get games, so if you want imperial assault promos but are only playing armada for isntance you could get them that way

And Rebels trailer spoilered the Dreadnougut. I love where this wave is heading... :)

Also: when will they hold a Worlds in Europe? I don't have the time and most importantly the creds to go to the USA :(

Never.

Worlds is at FFG Hq only.

you would have to make them not be a US company first.

... their answer is win Euro champs... they’ll fly you (and a friend) to worlds at their cost.

and hopefully the Glad won't be some stupid high price so a few folks can get extras.. or super rare so it sells out the first 15 min every day..... but barring those issues with a few items, the prize wall was really nice last year overall.

They'll not fly the friend (but they will reserve them a seat).

Actually, it has been hiding in plain sight all the time. Pull your Profundity expansion out of the shelf and have a good hard look at it. ;)

Can anyone tell me please if Worlds and Euro prizes last year wear similar in terms of dices, range rulers, tokens etc? I remember alt cards were different. I'm trying to weigh my expectations.

I don't believe they were. If anything, did they overlap with the North American Championship prizes?

Euro and NA were the same.

there was no overlap with worlds

That’s a change to last year then . Last year was full package for you and friend so you would not travel alone

There has only been one European Championship so far and I had also understood that they would offer travels, accomodation, and a reserved seat to the European Champion and a friend.

But talking to the IA European Champion recently I realised that was not the case. I had misread the description of the prize of the European Champion and if you read it carefully it states differently.

" The North American and European Champions for each competitive Organized Play game will receive travel and accommodations for the following World Championship for their game, along with a first-round bye. They are allotted two free entries to their game's World Championship main event, for themselves and a companion."

I stand corrected here too... i was misinformed by FFG back in the day ?

i rnquired what what would happen if, say, a Canadian travelled to the UK and won Euros, wether it would be honoured or wether the trip was from Europe only. That email response indicated both were paid for...

I only see a Cr90, nebulon, dornean gunship and gr 75 there.

And of course the profundity

the gr 75 is debatable though

Now this is interesting. Does this mean that each day will have 5 rounds?
