For those who don’t know, this the Star Herald, a prototype imperial scout ship. The ship showed up in the Kids books Adventures in Wild Space.

Some things interesting about this ship is it has a tractor beam, and Twin Ion Engines.

Known Imperial Pilots could be: Visler Korda. Maybe RX-48 - though the former was no longer imperial at the time. The latter was not imperial at all. I chose it as imperial as gives them another option. However, this could be a fully cross faction ship, as it goes into the sequel era.

Now I will say that if this is the new TIE scout, it looks a whole lot better than the old one.

This will likely be another large base, but I’m not sure on it’s size. Still even large it could very well be a TIE, and use those mods - an interesting space.

Add in a crew, maybe two system slots - it is a scout ship after all.

Now, this ship will likely not show up, as it is from a relatively lesser known source. Plus, do we need another large ship? Also most of the notable pilots for it are not imperial. Still, it is a pretty ship, and I am all for more options.

That's just plagiarism. Adamkop needs to be notified immediately.

All these TIE Scouts are badly designed, it relies on tomany giant moving parts for the engines, and their is no way this is superior to a TIE Scout. In fact the TIE Scout looks pretty awesome! tscout_gross.jpg

I am going to disagree. Sadly I can't get past the look of the TIE hunchback. I suppose, there is a place needed for the churchbells, but the way the engines scream “sanctuary” as it flies by is offputting.

I definitely prefer the TIE Vanguard to the official TIE Scout.

TIE/sr Scout

small base

system x 2, crew x 2

20 pts PS 2?

it would look good flying with some Punishers. Give it a title that lets other ships benifit from it’s system upgrades.

The only issue now, if a small based ship, what would this do that a TIE Reaper won't do? Especially since a coordinate crew is likely.

It’ll actually look like it fits on the small base.

I am endlessly angry that the TIE Reaper is a small base but the U-Wing is large, despite being quite agile.

I’m sure being large base makes the U wing faster than expected, especially with EU. Really the large base mostly impacts the way you fly around obstacles and other ships. I’d say put Zeb in the passenger seat, throw on collision detector and play bumper cars.

Neat! I do prefer the Vanguard from a purely visual point of view, but one can hardly argue that the Scout has a more unique profile among all those other TiEs we got.

But the statline got me thinking: What's above would probably work, but how about something akin to Armada's Interdictor? Quite non-combat focused, bringing along its own unique upgrade type for all kinds of debuffs?

I for one would like to see what some sort of malicious imperial HWK-290- equivalent might look like, and the Scout might be a good platfom to try.

I agree, the old tie scout looks pretty lame. I did just notice, however, that if you turn it upside down it looks a lot better.

Hasbro, why you no make TIE Scout toy. Would be fun for boy and girl.

Yeah, I made a thread like that foreeeever ago, saying the TIE Scout would be the best HWK-290 analogue for The Empire. Of course, now with epic actions like Coordinate running around, I can't see the TIE Scout not having it.

Can we please errata that into the HWK?

Nope.. you can only ever take a hole punch to a ship card, not add to it. ?

It would make the Hwk great..

Honestly, I'd redesign the dial to be a ship that can go hella fast but turning is another story. That's what we see it do all the time- Jan is CONSTANTLY pulling to the side to make it obey but boy oh boy does it NEVER lack in speed..!

But yeah coordinate would make the HWK a powerhouse. The powerhouse it deserves to be, dammit.

Give the man a cookie, he's absolutley right. It actually looks pretty darn good upside down. The real question is, how did find that out?

you know, upside down TIE Scout looks like a TIE Advanced with a.... jail cell underneath.

TIE Prison! Finally a place to put Rebel Captive that makes sense! If you ignore Firespray that is....
