Standard (new) Dash load out: which illicit?

By BlodVargarna, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I’ve flown a lot of the new standard Dash: LW, Rey, HLC, title, Countermeasures, snuggling compartment, and illicit of choice.

Usually I use cargo, or scavenger crane, burn out slam rarely.

One illicit I’e wondered about is: Glitterstim to have a “time walk” Dash.

Pop it on same round as Countermeasures to avoid as much damage as possible and benefit from a quasi Expertise.

Any Dash fans use this?

The problem with ‘stims is that you need to go slow to get rid of the stress which leaves the danger of being outmanoeuvred the following turn. I prefer countermeasures and rigged cargo chute. Or burnout. I suppose a hot-shot blaster isn’t a bad idea to protect the doughnut hole.

Snuggling compartment. Quite the Ladies man aren't you?????? If it's in space would it still be considered the mile high club? I mean it can definitely get lonely. Han had his Wookie, but poor Dash. All alone with only a droid named Leebo.....

on a serious note, I like the Rigged Cargo for 1 point, or Hot Shot for 3 like @Estarriol shared earlier for the donut hole. cargo to create an obstructed if needed.

But the real question is which illicit. I kinda don't like Scavenger Crane. I get why it'd be good to get back countermeasures, I just don't like the mismatch between the ranges of it and HLC.

Rigged Cargo Chute is always going to work pretty well with Dash. It can also be like a mini-Countermeasures, giving you the defensive bonus of obstructing your enemy's shots, but you'd be limited to a single Rey focus.

I was hearing good things about Burnout SLAM against something like Miranda. Deny an opportunity for her to get an extra round of regen against you.

For Glitterstim, how much is it needed? With Rey, it's pretty easy to have two focus tokens. Glitters will be useful against the Ghost, though. Popped with Countermeasures, you'd have between a 65% to 75% chance to avoid an individual shot from the TLT, and you'd also still have focus and reroll effects to hit them. But that's one turn. I don't know as that's enough to turn the tide against Fenn/Ghost on it's own, but it does make for a nicer turn. Against other lists, do you face enough attacks? 3BQD might be throwing enough attacks in a turn for it to matter. With lower ship counts, I just don't know that it's always going to be the case where there are turns you need more than two tokens from Rey. Granted, Glitters allows you to barrel roll, but you've got to balance that against either a Green next turn, or a White and just taking a token from Rey with no true actions.

I'll say that Glitterstim's stock goes up if you really want Rey on a your second ship in the list, and have to take something like Recon Specialist. Or if you took a different crew like Chewbacca or C-3PO. But with Rey? I don't know that the benefit is high enough to pass up options which are less redundant.

I would still go with RCC or SC. Glitter is hard to bounce back from.
