"Solo: A Star Wars Story" Expectations

By SilentSteve, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

I has Captain and Cokes with my big screen outings. :)

I'm hoping this covers the Battle of Tanaab or we get a Lando movie that covers it. I seriously doubt they could do worse then the legends version, which was the biggest letdown in legends history IMO.

I don’t remember the Legends version. Where was it covered at?

my biggest letdown was the “Many Bothans” death that came from Shadows of the Empire. Here I was expecting a super secret spy ring, doing spy stuff. Maybe some Imperial retribution from the leak.

No. Just a Squadron of Bothan pilots that got blowed up. You know, like a bunch of other fighters we saw at Yavin. Or at Scarif. Or at Endor. It made Mothma sound like a drama queen instead of something monumental happening.

The Battle of Tanaab was in the Essential Guide to Warfare. I still think the version in the book was adapted from a Home Alone in Space script.

Expections? None. I'll be waiting til i watch a few reviews before i decide whether i'll see it or not. I'm still hurting too much from the abomination known as "the Last Jedi".

Star wars heist movie

hopeing for the best but I'm too smart to fall for hype.

Lately, I generally avoid the "hype" of the movie.

If it looks exciting, great. If there's a lot of hyperbole in its promotion, then I'll take it with a grain of salt, and judge on viewing.

My only expectations are to go see another good Star Wars movie. I've only been mildly disappointed by the recent "Episodes", but not enough to deter my love to go see Star Wars on the big screen. I have a feeling that it will be the "Star Wars Story" movies that end up really saving and prolonging the franchise's relevance on the big screen.

I am also admittedly anxious about the live-action Star Wars tv series being helmed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man). If the live action series proves as excellent as The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, I'd say Star Wars is in good hands on the small screen. :) (I hope it is more stories in the Rebellion era...that's my favorite era for Star Wars.... few, if any Jedi, and lots of blasters and cool ships.)
