Another Class Card Question

By Vancheng, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Few questions:

1) Watchman Trailblazer skill card: " Exhaust this card during a heros turn. You and each hero adjacent to you may immediately move 1 space "

Question is: "can two heroes exchange places using this card? Heroes cant be placed in blocked space, but they move simultaniously, so why not?"

2) Hexer Internal Rot: " Each time a monster becomes hexed, you may place 1 additional hex token on that monster.
Each of you attacks with a Magic weapon targeting a hexed monster gains Pierce 2. "

Question is: "does pierce part work if hex token was placed during this attack?

Nothing in the game truly happens simultaneously in the manner you are saying. The two movements have the same timing, so the player whose turn it is gets to decide the order in which the movements resolve. So in the case of Trailblazer, the activating hero will move one hero, then the other, as they choose.

The same is true of figures hit by an attack that harms multiple figures. You can imagine them being hit “simultaneously”, but you still resolve their damage one at a time and defeat them one at a time. In fact, the order in which you do this can influence what happens. For example, there was a question posed earlier about whether a Prophet could save another hero that was defeated by an attack using "Lifeline" if they themselves were also defeated by the same attack. The answer: Depends on the order in which the figures resolve.

No. Attacks follow a sequence of steps that are performed in a fixed order described well in the CRRG reference. You need to target a hexed monster to gain the Pierce 2. By the time you have applied a surge and given a monster a hex token, the monster had already been declared a target.

Thank you

I agree that Trailblazer cannot be used to swap position.

I have some other observations/questions though.

Firstly, I find this skill to be quite OP, as it is free and can quite often be used twice per round as it refreshes when the watchman starts his turn.

Secondly, I wonder how the move is resolved in relation to things that interact with movement, like a webtrap for instance. Does every hero move ‘simultaneously’ (it does say “immediately”) or do you have to choose an order (which can then be interrupted)?

1) The skill is exhausted when used, so it can only be used twice per round if the Watchman didn't use it after his activation on the previous round. Seems okay to me. The Watchman in general is stronger than the average class - all of its skills are very good, which is a rarity.

2) For a Web Trap, I'd say you can play it immediately after any of the heroes move, which will 'interrupt' the sequence of movements created by Trailblazer. However, Web Trap will not stop any of these heroes from moving, because Immobilize removes movement points, but Trailblazer does not grant movement points. "Moving X spaces" abilities are not affected.
