beginning of turn question

By Mister Mask, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

we've just have official answers about how the beginning of the turn is ruled, and i suggest that everyone reads it, quite interesting.

it is said that a card with a "start of turn" forced effect triggers automatically during this phase. everyone agrees till there :)

my question is i have a bloodthirstier as a development in my battlefield, and i "Rip Dere 'Eads Off" it during phase 0 (instead of after launching my attack cause i had a few resources left from the previous turn).

Does its effect trigger ?

i would say yes, because we are still during the beginning of the turn phase and its effect have to trigger as soon as it checks it. I ask the question because we have played it this way for weeks but the question only comes to me today ! so whatever the answer is, it could be useful to other players :) (of course the question is the same for Bule or whatever card with that kind of Forced)

I would say yes, it activates, too. It seems unlikely that the Bloodthirster "remembers" whether it should trigger from the beginning of the action window, given now we know how the beginning of turn stuff works (via the Rat Ogres question).

Of course, if you want the definitive answer, send it in to James.

I belive the its a no

His effect only triggers when he comes into play, as a development he is allready in play so it not going to trigger.

I could be wrong.

ME DUMB DUMB

I see your point but would actually have to disagree with you and say no you don't sacrafice. Here is why:

The effect on Bloodthirster reads:

Forced: After your turn begins, each player must sacrifice a unit in this corresponding zone.

The beginning of turn phase has the player resolve all "Forced: After your turn begins..." effects before any player can play an action. Since this part of the beginning of turn phase is already finished when you've played the action Rip Dere 'Eads Off!, the window that triggers the "After your turn begins" forced effects has already passed.

Good question though (I hadn't thought of that combo since I have not made a orc-chaos deck). I would love to hear the official ruling if you don't mind posting it.

so they would have to split the beginning of the turn with 2 separate phases.

they just said, if you are in the beginning of the turn phase, and a card has a forced effect during this phase, it occurs immediately. Though i would like an official answer since many tricks could be used that way.
