I've seen the Dengar/Ventress list doing the rounds with the Maul crew and Expertise EPT combo on Dengar. This seems a bit counter intuitive to me; surely the stress from Maul's re-roll will shut down expertise?

What am I missing here? Is it just an "options" thing?

Usually Expertise is used first to ‘fix’ any focus results, then Maul to reroll a blank. Its not perfectly efficient, as if the reroll gets you a focus then Expertise is turned off, but its still dice-mod.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Not terribly efficient but I guess in a world of Rebel Fenn Rau's it's another mod that Fenn can't shut down.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head; no need to worry if none of your mods need you to spend tokens.

It's also not great if you miss, as you have then shut down both Expertise and Maul for your revenge shot.

That is what I was thinking. Maul's ability does not work with expertise unless you just happen to roll really, really well. BUT if you rolled well you wouldn't need either. LOL

Expertise/Ezra/Maul.... Roll, turn all focus to hits (expertise), reroll a blank, if it focus's again, Ezra to crit. The only suck is a second blank *)
