Crazy Sorin list

So i came up with this odd Sorin list that i think can put out some decend punch, as long as no one can get to Sorin and kill him in a flash like Ahsoka.i tried it tonight against my son who's only 9 but the sheer ability of Senties rolling G/G/G/Y on every multi shot plus the AT-DP rolling Rainbow everyshot was destructive, if anyone came to close Sorin would give out Stun's or Triple Zero would run up and stun someone then Weaken them. It needs more Testing though

With Sorin, you need to take the Advanced Comms attachment. I’d also probably drop an officer so I could take Zillo and then you can choose between rule by fear and your targeting computer.

Overall, the sentries get more value from Sorin than any other figure to date, but it’s still going to be tough to get value out of him

I have a hard time ever taking Sorin instead of Palpatine for the same point cost...

If Kayn and Sorin were 6pts, Imperials would make a clean sweep of every tournament. Onar is our only hope.

Stun and Focus are super good. Hadn't considered that. I just looked at the difference in hitpoints for the same cost and was like well that's not a question...

To be as effective as let's say 3PO, Sorin has to give 4 Focus per round. And this doesn't even include the cost of 1 surge per Focus. I'm not sure, that we're top tier here ...

The guy who lost in the finals of the Michigan Regional had a cool Imp list with Onar.

agreed, to be even competitive Sorin would need his abilities boosted to range 3, he needs a die added to his attack and his HP bumped up to 12 and he can stay at cost 8

In my skirmish attachments of Kayn and Sorin, I ended up giving both a built-in within-3-spaces Advanced Comms and tweaks for their primary attacks. But I kept Sorin at cost 7 and only reduced Kayn to 8.

I've played against an AT-DP w/ Sorin list. Getting that AT-DP Focused after its first attack is really strong... especially since Charge Generator lets you reroll one of the rainbow. For the Sentry Droids, having Sorin's surge for Stun is probably more valuable so you can limit attacks made against the AT-DP. (And then you could pull out Covering Fire for that sweet +2 DMG on already-Stunned figures.)

Sorin's free blast ability on his hand-out attacks is fascinating too. Free blast could be pretty effective for breaking up rebel boxes. It might even be worth throwing in cards like Explosive Weaponry, since you're going to want to run Zillo, so you'll always have a use for it.

I'd drop BT/0-0-0 in the OP list for EJets and an Officer. EJets fit the Vehicle meta for CC love. Add in a few Repairs to keep the AT-DP up (you can toss them for Zillo, too, right?). You'll get a bit of a trick in keeping Sorin alive however you build, but with Zillo and CC help, that should take 2-3 attacks, and you'll have plenty of hearty firepower left on the table after that.

honestly after last nights 2 losses thats the idea i came up with, i really want to make BT-1 and 0-0-0 work but they are both over priced, i played against a hunter build with Vinto and Greedo and to see what those two can do for 9 points and having the best traits in the game just shows you how bad off the Imps really are, we have Vader,Palp and eJets. An eSentry at 5 points doesn't even compare to Vinto

0-0-0 has the same problem, many melee unit have ... speed 4 and range 1. That's not enough, except you have a dedicated melle list and command deck.

BT-1 actually is quite good, just a little bit fragile. Therefore, your positioning must be perfect, but then he is worth his points. He just brings nothing you need in a Sorin list, as he can't use Sorin's focus.

The MVP was really Sorin dishing out stunning and focuses. Sentry droids double tapping with a focus on the second shot, and AT-DP laying down the hurt 3/4 times per round really adds up quick. Both also generally have quite a few surges. Stunning both Han and Vader wasn't generally an issue, which massively reduces their output. I wouldn't call it top tier, but it's definatly no slouch, especially if people don't expect the massive damage bunker that's avalanching down the hill.

Sorin's still great if you build a list around him but there's more stuff that can just reach out and kill him nowadays with both Jedi Luke and Ahsoka not really having a problem walking in and smashing him.

I miss my Sorin list :(

Have been toying around with the idea of 2xeSentry with Sorin and the ATDP but I'm shying away for the reasons above really

yeah no figure should cost more than his HP

I fail to see how you'll take advantage of Sorin's stuff most of the time - you create a box around him and then... you lose on objectives, you dont have line of sight without moving, etc.~

Do you know about the upgrade advanced comms? it is basically tailor made for him and extends the range of his adjacent abilities out to range 3, which is a fairly large threat circle. I still believe he is over costed or under healthed, but that upgrade makes him usable.
