Use of Double Special Actions and To the Limit

By topacesteve, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hello, i would really like to use the Double Action to perform 2 attacks from Mandalorian Tactics, for Boba Fett and Maximum Firepower on BT-1

My first question is... can i use To the Limit to perform a Move then the 1st part of Special Action (and finally the 2nd part using To the Limit)? is that Legit?

My second question is any ideas especially for Mandalorian Tactics in order to be effective without using To the Limit...i would need a 3rd Special Action for Boba Fett to move him...

1. No.

2. Yeah, that’s why that card isn’t very good. You have to position him poorly to be able to get off the attacks. Gideon, IOs, or other movement command cards to get him in position. To the limit is possible, but only with a special action like you mention. Urgency or Jump Jets would allow you to trigger that. Last option is to use Boba end of round to position and attack, start the following round off with mandalorian tactics.

One card that can also help with Maximum Firepower is Marksman. Being able to shoot through figures can help tremendously for getting off that massive attack.

"double special" action is just a single special action costing two action(points). Unfortunately we don't have separate terms for them.

Scums need all the firepower they can get to get rid of Solo or Leia fast, or they will suffer Solo's normal attack, counter attack and end of round attack, Leia's focused attack Plus new attack from Solo , and if they take initiative with Make my own Luck a new Attack from Solo. About 48 hits in a single round.....

To double check here, could, for example, Vader use Force Choke, then To the Limit and Pummel ? By @a1bert 's comment, it's a "single special action costing two action(points)," and To the Limit tells you to "perform 1 additional action." As A1bert also notes, we don't have separate terms for action and action points.

(Surprisingly, this is not among the explicitly clarified cases for To the Limit in the new FAQ.)

Yes, Force Choke + To the Limit + Pummel is fine.

I don't see it in the FAQ, but if you have bleeding , you only suffer one strain for performing a special action costing two action(point)s.
