Squadron bases.

By E-Man720, in Star Wars: Armada

Does anyone have any squadron bases they don't need and are willing to trade?

I got some TIE's off of a rebel player, and they had been put together with force rather than looking. This damaged the base itself and the section of peg that slots into it, and I now have 6 TIE's without their own bases.

Is there any reason you can't just super glue them?

Yeah, those six TIEs are now prisoners of their own flesh base, but they'd be usable.

There are reasons for not super glueing them...

I have one where I did the same (Brute force put together) the stalk has broken/ splinted at the section where it meets the flat base. Meaning there is no level place to glue it*

* I will get round the filing it flat and having a basic TIE sqn thats half inch shorter than the rest....

I would shoot asmodee a request and get some new ones. Their customer service is actually top notch.

Just make some magnetic bases. You'll need tiny magnets, a file or drill, and snips to cut the half moon insert on the peg. Super glue the magnet to the peg, and hot glue a magnet into the base. Now all your bases can be swapped easily.

Have you done this before? I know people do this sort of thing for X Wing, but how well does it work for Armada? Don't you risk having the health pointer move, or does it just move with the peg and there isn't any problem? I hadn't considered doing this, but it does sound like it'll solve a storage issue I've dealing with right now (in that I don't want to have a huge thing to lug everything around, and the squadrons are taking up massive amounts of space).

Yea I've done it for a few bases. I really like it because nothing sticks; it all slides very smoothly now. And yes, depending on the length of the peg you leave, the arrow can be very loose and spin. If you cut a lot of the peg, you can make a more snug fit.
